Hi Máximo!

Congrats on reaching — your tactical sharpness and fighting spirit are clear. Below is personalised feedback based on your latest games.

What you already do well

  • Enterprising openings. You switch between 1.e4/1.d4 systems and are happy to uncork off-beat ideas (e.g. 1.e3 or early h4-h5), keeping opponents out of book and scoring miniatures such as 14.Ba6#.
  • Tactics. The combination 17…Nf2+!! in your win over mtllights shows excellent pattern recognition and courage to sacrifice.
  • Pace & psychology. You play quickly when you have the initiative, forcing weaker defenders to collapse.

Priority areas

1. Time management

Two recent losses (vs simple_11, Quetu123) were equal or winning but ended on the clock. Try the “30-20-10 rule”: keep ≥30 s after the opening, 20 s in the middlegame, 10 s in simplified positions. Drop below a threshold → simplify or repeat moves.

2. Pawn discipline in flank pushes

Defeats to tigers_eyemodern and Dorel Oltean show that early a4/a5 or h4/h5 can create holes (b4, f4) that strong opponents occupy. Before pushing a wing pawn ask:

  1. Will my king become weaker?
  2. Can the pawn be supported by another pawn?
  3. If the centre opens, who benefits?

3. End-game conversion

In the K-and-P ending vs simple_11 you were a pawn up but lost by missing basic opposition. Drill practical rook-and-pawn endings weekly; e.g. K+R vs K+R+f-pawn from both sides under 30 s.

4. Structured calculation

Your tactical eye is strong, yet some blunders persist (24…Nxd5? vs MammothCricket). Adopt the SCAN routine:

  • Safety — are my king/queen safe?
  • Captures — checks & captures for both sides.
  • Attacks — threats I can create or must meet.
  • Neat resources — intermediate moves (zwischenzug).

Opening snapshot

  • As White: London-type setups (Bf4, Bh2) and 1.e3 leading to French-like structures.
  • As Black: French-Sicilian (…e6 & …c5) and Pirc hybrids.

Pick one main line with each colour and study 10 model games to deepen positional understanding rather than relying solely on surprise value.
