Hi Amir_ghz – Personalised Coaching Review

What’s already working

  • Fighting spirit & conversion: You often turn pressure into full points (e.g. the win vs starelna).
  • Pawn storms: Your g- and h-pawn pushes create practical chances and have yielded several quick wins.
  • Piece activity: Even in losses you usually find active squares for your bishops and rooks – an excellent habit to keep.

Patterns that cost you points

  1. Premature f-pawn moves.
    • 9…f6 (loss vs fabriziobarcella) weakened dark squares and invited Qb7#.
    • 3.f3 + long castling (loss vs TheMonkeyBra1n) let Black rip open your king.
Guideline: Delay …f6/f3 until the king is safe and the centre is closed.
  2. King safety after O-O-O.
When you castle long and push wing pawns, the c-file and centre must stay locked. Games vs PitcherOfBlue & saman58 show how an open centre led to perpetual checks and time trouble. Keep one pawn on c3/c6 and avoid early captures that open files toward your monarch.
  3. Tactical oversight.
Missed forks and overlooked intermediate moves (Zwischenzug) cost material. A daily tactics routine will raise your ceiling.
  4. Clock management.
Three recent defeats were on time. You play most moves under 10 sec; opponents average 25 sec. Practise making “good enough” decisions faster and use their time to plan.

Opening tune-ups

As White: Try the Colle/London structure without f3: 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.e3 e6 4.Bd3 c5 5.c3. Same plans, fewer holes.
As Black: Your ...e6-d5 setup is solid; replace early …f6 with a classical Queen’s Gambit Declined or French idea. Example line:

Endgame corner

  • Good rook-endgame instincts (wins vs Zeljko31, saman58) – sharpen further with the Lucena & Philidor studies.
  • Review king-and-pawn breakthrough themes; several lost endings were still drawable.

Action plan for the next 30 days

  1. Solve 20-minute tactics set daily.
  2. Play 5 games where the f-pawn does not move before move 10 – notice the difference in king safety.
  3. After every loss, jot down one sentence describing the last avoidable mistake.
  4. Track progress with

Stay committed – your upward trend is clear, and another personal best (2004 (2025-04-13)) is within reach once these adjustments stick. Good luck and enjoy your chess journey!
