The Man Who Never Logs Off
Some players study chess. Some players engineer a repertoire. Ademar Vieira Neto, known on the leaderboard as ANeto_88, plays. A lot. Since surfacing in the blitz pool in March 2023 at a modest 1720, he has logged 16,796 rated blitz games, roughly a dozen a day, every day, for three and a half years. The grind worked: he climbed more than 1000 rating points and touched an all-time peak of 2729 (2025-12-22) in December 2025. For contrast, his entire bullet career consists of exactly one game, an East Indian Defense he lost, and he still posted a bullet peak of 2496 that same day. Rating math works in mysterious ways.
An Opening Repertoire Built in Bulk

Opponents answer with the Sicilian more than anything else, led by the Sicilian Defense: Najdorf Variation, and his favorite counterpunch is the Accelerated Dragon setup with an early bishop to c4, good for nearly 48% wins across 328 games:
The Caro-Kann Defense shows up almost as often, 595 games and counting. With the black pieces it is Sicilian all the way: the Sicilian Defense: Closed and the Richter-Rauzer carry the workload, while the Rossolimo Attack and the Sicilian Defense: Alapin Variation are the two greetings he enjoys least, both hovering around 32%.
Style: Rooks, Marathons, Comebacks
- 88% of his games reach an endgame, and the average win takes about 90 moves to seal.
- The rook is his favorite checking piece: 16,143 deliveries of heavy artillery, comfortably ahead of the queen.
- He resigns early in just 0.2% of games, keeps fighting after dropping material (39% wins in those spots), and posts a tilt factor of 13, chess-speak for unflappable.
- 159 wins by checkmate, 67 losses by checkmate, and six career stalemates for the purists.
- A 62% win rate against lower-rated opponents and 25% against higher-rated ones, which is at least honest.
Allies, Rivals and One Angry Penguin
His most frequent dance partner is spfc-skkbr, met 87 times with a winning score of 47-21-19. Wanderlei Lukachewski Junior follows at 69 meetings, and 29 of those ended in draws, a rivalry seemingly allergic to decisions. Then there is petitpingouin06, the little penguin who owns the head-to-head, 41 wins to Ademar's 18 across 64 games, the closest thing this data has to a nemesis. Everyone needs one to stay humble.
Habits of a Serial Grinder
Morning chess is his superpower: the numbers point to 8:00 AM as his best hour, while 10:00 AM collapses to a sobering 16.7% win rate, so challenge him before the coffee kicks in at your own risk. Thursday is his best day, Tuesday his worst. October 2023 remains the iron-man month, a cool 1,000 games, about 32 per day. He has survived a 13-game losing streak, strung together a 10-game win streak, and is currently riding an 8-game heater. Somewhere along the way his opening preparation deepened from five moves of book in 2023 to seven today, which after 16,000 games is either discipline or pure muscle memory. The blitz queue may never know.
