Hi anshhikas – personalised coaching report

What you already do well

  • Active piece play. You often bring knights to advanced squares early (e.g. Nb5-Nd5 in your win vs atomicrasta) which puts real pressure on opponents.
  • Initiative-seeking pawn breaks. Pushes such as d4-d5 or c4-c5 keep the game lively and create tactics in your favour.
  • Good tactical vision when the king is safe & time is ample. Many of your victories come from spotting forks or mating nets first.

Main themes to improve next

  1. King safety in the early middlegame
In the recent loss to hirat0 a g-file weakness led to mate on move 19.
    Critical sequence:

➜ Before pushing pieces forward, ask “What squares near my king are weak?” Guard g2/g7 and back-rank squares.
  2. Time management
Four of the last five losses (e.g. vs adityasahu75 and d4_d5_c4_qg) were on time in equal positions.
    • Move instantly in forced recaptures (use premove).
    • Practise 3 + 2 or 5 + 5 games to build a “safety buffer”.
    • When <15 s, choose simple forcing moves rather than searching for the perfect continuation.

clearly shows your win-rate drops when the clock gets low.
  3. Converting won endgames
The Vienna Game vs hamitkoc was two pawns up yet slipped away. Study basic rook endgame rules (rooks behind passed pawns, cut the enemy king) and king-and-pawn technique. Five endgame puzzles a day will pay off quickly.
  4. Streamlined opening repertoire
1.Nc3 is fun, but also spend time on classical setups to learn standard patterns.
    • As White: try the straightforward Italian Game.
    • As Black vs 1.e4: continue 1…e5 but keep the “four golden moves” in mind: Nf6, Nc6, Bc5, d6.
Build the habit: develop minor pieces, castle, connect rooks – then attack.
  5. Tactical sharpening
Most setbacks come from missed forks and pins – work on these motifs:
    • Queen-bishop batteries on the b1–h7 / b8–h2 diagonal.
    • Knight forks on e6/d6/f7/f2.
    • Back-rank mates – always leave luft.
Aim for a 2 000 blitz puzzle rating; daily Puzzle Rush or 20 mixed puzzles is the fastest route.

7-day micro-training plan

  • Day 1-2: 30 tactical puzzles + watch one annotated Italian Game.
  • Day 3: Play five 5 + 5 games focusing purely on the clock.
  • Day 4-5: Endgame module 1 (king & pawn; rook activity).
  • Day 6: Self-annotate the loss to hirat0 spotting missed defences.
  • Day 7: Rest – one relaxed game, review highlights only.

Motivation corner

Your current personal best is 505 (2025-02-01). With the five improvements above, 700+ is easily reachable within two months. Remember: improve king safety, move a little faster, and calculate one extra move – the victories will follow.

Good luck and enjoy the journey!
