Bruno D'Angelo Lacerda: The Marathon Man of the 64 Squares
There are chess players, and then there is Bruno D'Angelo Lacerda, known online as b-d-l (three initials, zero mystery). Since surfacing in July 2013 with a humble blitz rating of 1362, Bruno has played his way through an astonishing 63,695 recorded games, stacking up 30,820 wins, 27,748 losses and 5,127 draws. Somewhere in there he presumably also eats. The chart below suggests sleeping is negotiable.
The climb was long and steady: 2000 blitz by December 2013, 2200 by 2017, and eventual peaks of 2529 (2026-01-16) in blitz (January 2026) and 2564 (2026-03-19) in rapid (March 2026). Blitz is his preferred time control and his preferred cardio.
