The Repertoire Is the Message
Caracal3000 does not hide his opening taste. As White, he plays 1 e4 an overwhelming amount of the time. The board then quickly becomes something you can bring to the library, the kebab shop, or the operating room.
His favorites are familiar but hard to break: the Four Knights Game is a reliable workhorse, the Sicilian Defense is his sharpest jungle, and the Caro-Kann Defense gets plenty of love too.
- As White: Four Knights Game scores just above 50% in blitz, and the Caro-Kann Defense is a source of stable pressure. He also enjoys the French Defense Burn system and the Najdorf Variation when the Sicilian gets hot.
- As Black: he happily sits in the Closed Sicilian, chooses the Accelerated Dragon, and does not flinch against the Queen's Gambit. If the game enters an endgame, expect the caracal to keep hunting.

Nobody hunt alone? Every Cat in blitz has a full-time rival. For Caracal3000, that rival is Hubert Meers. They have faced each other 401 times, which is practically a meeting of the blitz union. The score is not Caracal-friendly: 125 wins, 224 losses, and 52 draws, but that only fuel the rematch. If you see Hubert Meers in a tournament, clear your schedule.
A Marathon Player in a Blitz Suit
Most blitz players want to finish fast. Caracal3000 would rather run a full race. He reaches the endgame in around 82% of his games, and even decisive games tend to run for a long row of moves. That makes him a patient predator with an: because when his tossed apparently bad, he has a comeback rate close to 89%.
Even the strongest cat stumbles: his longest losing streak was a rough 9-game ride. But another wave came, a 12-game winning streak that tasted like the first breakfast of the day.
