About Cécile Haussernot
Cécile Haussernot, better known online as Cecile-Haussernot, is a French Woman International Master and a popular chess streamer. She is a creature of fast time controls, and blitz is clearly her natural habitat. With thousands of blitz games played, she has pushed her rating to a peak of 2873 (2026-08-09) and her bullet rating to 2791 (2026-07-04). When she is not streaming, she is likely grinding another marathon online session, hunting for her next winning streak.
Relentless Rise
Her online journey began modestly, with a blitz rating around 1971 in late 2017. Year after year she climbed, crossing 2400 in 2019, breaking past 2500 in late 2023, and eventually reaching the rarefied 2700s and beyond. At one glorious point in 2026, she recorded a 47 game winning streak that makes any opponent think twice before queueing up against her. The chart below shows just how steady and explosive her blitz growth has been over the years.
Playing Style
Cécile favors reliable yet sharp openings. As Black, she regularly turns to the Petrov's Defense, scoring a healthy 55 percent in blitz. She is also heavily invested in the Caro-Kann Defense, which appears across her blitz, bullet, and rapid games with consistently positive results. Her statistics show a fighter's mentality: a comeback rate near 87 percent means that losing material early is often just the beginning of her counterattack. Opponents who relax after winning a piece usually regret it.
Fierce Rivalries
No one has faced Cécile more often than nissou-ach, her most frequent online rival. Across 163 games, Cécile holds the edge with 82 wins. Other regular sparring partners include hemanthsankar and joeassaad, who have helped sharpen her game through dozens of tense encounters.
