1. Opening Discipline

• You frequently launch the queen with Qh5/Qd1-h5 or Qd1-g4 by move 4. Against accurate defence this backfires, as in the loss to shnnndallas12 where 7…gxh5 punished the early assault.
• Recommendation: for the next 30 games, follow the simple checklist:

1. Develop two minor pieces.
2. Castle.
3. Connect rooks.

2. Tactical Clean-Up

Three of your recent defeats came from overlooking a one-move tactic (26.Qg7# vs. JoshNicMac, 44…Rh2 in the AKSA1008 game, 14.Nxd6+ in the Nimzowitsch Defence game). Build the habit of asking, “What is my opponent threatening?” before every move. Spend 10 minutes/day on puzzle rush or rated puzzles; stop when you get three wrong in a row so you always finish with focus.

3. King Safety

• As Black you often castle into an attack after advancing the g-pawn (games vs. JoshNicMac & imsama2). In the Scandinavian, consider the solid line 3…Qxd5 4.Nc3 Qa5 followed by …Nf6 and …c6, keeping pawns in front of your king.

4. Endgame Technique

When you reach a won ending you sometimes allow counter-play (see 31…Be3+ vs. lunchboxattack). Basic endgame drills (king & pawn vs. king; rook vs. pawn) will help you convert smoothly.

5. Time Management

Many results are decided on the clock. Winning on time is good, but it can hide mistakes. Try one 10|0 game per day: the extra time forces you to calculate and will transfer back to 3-minute play.
