Tea [Redacted], known across the chess server as CthulhuDancing, is proof that the Great Old One does not sleep. Tea prefers the frantic pace of bullet chess, but the real eldritch horror is the sheer volume: more than 8,700 rated games since late 2022. The username suggests a love of rhythm, and the stats suggest a love of endless, ceaseless play.

The Long Climb

Tea started near the bottom of the mountain, with ratings hovering in the 600s and 700s in late 2022. By the summer of 2025, Tea had reached a blitz peak of 1655 (2025-08-20) and a rapid peak of 1601 (2026-01-16). The journey was not a sprint. It was a marathon with no finish line, played one game at a time, usually many games per day.
