What you already do well

  • Fighting spirit: Many of your victories come from complicated positions where you keep posing problems until the very end.
  • Tactical awareness: You spot forks and discovered attacks quickly (e.g. Ne7⁺ in your most recent win).
  • Practical time handling (when winning): You often accelerate after gaining material, forcing opponents to flag.

Recurring Issues

  1. Late king safety. A number of early queen sorties (…Qxe4, …Qg5) and pawn pushes (g- and h-pawns) leave the king in the centre. In losses you are normally behind in development and un-castled by move 10-12.
    • Fix: Follow the basic opening order — centre pawns → minor pieces → castle → connect rooks. Delay queen adventures until move 12 or later.
  2. Piece coordination in the middlegame. You like individual hero pieces but sometimes they run out of support (see 13…Bh3?? in your Benoni loss and 15…Nc6? in the Caro-Kann game).
    • Fix: Before playing an aggressive move ask “How many of my pieces defend this square vs. how many of theirs?” A 3-second count reduces blunders dramatically.
  3. Endgame technique. Several wins needed 30+ moves to convert an extra rook/pawn. You relied on opponent time-outs rather than clean technique.
    • Fix: Do 10 basic endgame puzzles (K+P vs K, Lucena, Philidor) every session. When you know the winning plan you will finish games faster and with less risk.
  4. Time-outs in daily chess. Almost every recent daily loss is “lost on time”.
    • Fix: Create a simple habit: log in, check each daily game, make at least one reply before you leave. If life is busy, reduce the number of concurrent games.

Targeted Training Plan (4 weeks)

AreaWeekly GoalHow
OpeningsPick one main line with 1.e4/…e5 & Black vs 1.e4.Build a 10-move “skeleton” in a study notebook; drill it 5 times per day.
Middlegame tactics150 puzzles (≈25/day on active days).Use motif filters for forks & pins. Track % accuracy.
EndgamesFinish the “100 Endgames You Must Know” chapter on pawn endings.Interactive trainer or Lichess studies.
Practical play15 rapid games with post-game self-review.After each game, identify one good move & one mistake.

Illustrative Games

Study the full score of your latest win and loss for concrete examples of the points above:

Last Win (key moment – 17.Ne7⁺!)
Last Loss (king stuck in the centre)

Next Steps

  • Join a thematic tournament or club focused on your chosen opening to gain mass-practice.
  • Use the Analysis Board after every game; switch on the “Opening explorer” only after you have annotated your own thoughts.
  • Play a training match versus higher-rated friends such as krishna j and request feedback.

Stay curious, keep the king safe, and good moves will follow. See you at the board!
