Jiaan Gondalia: The Blitz Battler Known as DexterDeeDad
Who Is DexterDeeDad?
Jiaan Gondalia, known online as DexterDeeDad, has turned online chess into a high-speed craft. His preferred arena is Blitz, and he has packed thousands of games into a relatively short online career. Since his first games in late 2020, he has played more than 8,400 rated games, collecting around 5,200 wins along the way.
What stands out most is durability. Jiaan rarely resigns early, reaches the endgame in nearly three quarters of his games, and has a comeback rate above 77 percent. Opponents who think they have won often find out otherwise.
A Late-Night Rise
Jiaan's path from online newcomer to high-rated regular was not a single sprint. His early Blitz games hovered around the 1,200 level, but steady improvement pushed him far beyond that. At his peak, he has touched 2501 (2026-06-03) in rapid and 2651 (2026-04-09) in bullet.
He also appears to save his sharpest ideas for the evening. His personal stats point to 22:00 as his best time to play, which may explain why many nighttime opponents see him at his most dangerous.
An Adventurous Repertoire
Jiaan is comfortable in both mainlines and side lines. As White, he often reaches for the Nimzo-Larsen Attack\) or other flank openings to steer games away from book battles. As Black, he is happy to take on the Sicilian Defense, and he scores heavily in the French Defense and Scandinavian Defense.
He is not afraid to mix in the Amar Gambit, a quirky opening that has produced plenty of quick wins in his bullet games. That willingness to play the unexpected makes him a difficult player to prepare against.
Familiar Rivals
Every frequent online player builds rivalries, and Jiaan's most familiar foe is vadex8. The two have faced each other 84 times in rated games, and Jiaan has won 54 of those meetings.
Against several other recurring opponents, his numbers are even more dominant, a sign that once he adjusts to a particular style, he tends to keep finding answers.
