Dimitry London (dynamokiev): A Blitz Marathon in Human Form
Dimitry London is not a Londoner, a footballer, or a professional chess player. At least as far as the data can tell, he is something far more impressive: an online blitz marathon runner who answers to the handle dynamokiev. Since 2015 he has played more than 26,000 rated blitz games. That is less a hobby and more a second job.
- Display name: Dimitry London
- Username: dynamokiev

- Preferred time control: Rapid, despite the blitz addiction
Career Trajectory
Dimitry's recorded journey began in April 2015 with a modest 1377 blitz rating. He then proceeded to win every sampled game in his first month, which is either a sign of things to come or a very small sample. The climb was steady, violent, and undeniably real. By late 2018 he touched 2500, and in 2026 he stormed past 2600 to reach a career high of 2669 (2026-06-20).
His longest winning streak is 13. His longest losing streak is 12. Chess is a pendulum, and Dimitry is the pendulum's favourite passenger.
Playing Style and Opening Repertoire
Ask Dimitry what he plays as White and the answer is essentially always the same: 1.e4. In the vast majority of his recorded games he plays the king's pawn, making him a romantic, an adventurer, and a highly predictable dinner guest.
His repertoire is a love letter to open games. He is a long-time practitioner of the Sicilian Defense, the Caro-Kann Defense, and the Scandinavian Defense. As Black he also enjoys the Gruenfeld Defense, especially the Exchange Variation, where he wins more than 53% of the time. In the Sicilian Classical Variation as Black, his win rate jumps to nearly 58%.
He also plays the oddly named Amazon Attack: Siberian Attack, which sounds like an action film franchise but is apparently a chess opening.
Rivalries and Marathon Battles
No one plays 26,000 games without making a few acquaintances. Dimitry's most frequent foe is 2011KING, with 121 games played, and he holds a positive score: 67 wins, 51 losses, and 3 draws. He also has long-running series against dosto07, kot60, and ufish.
Against kot60, however, the ledger is less flattering: 29 wins against 47 losses. Even the greatest blitz grinder has a nemesis or two.
Psychology and Quirks
Dimitry is stubborn in the best possible way. His early resignation rate is only 1.31%, and his comeback rate is 86.84%. He reaches the endgame in 78.36% of his games, which means he genuinely wants to see every game through, even the disasters.
- Longest winning streak: 13
- Longest losing streak: 12
- Comeback rate: 86.84%
- Win rate after losing a piece: 49.09%
- Best time of day to play: 12:00, with a win rate of 84.62%
His tilt factor is 12, which sounds worrying, but his stats suggest he mostly saves his best chess for lunchtime.
Rapid Play: The Small, Adorable Side
Despite everything above, Dimitry's preferred time control is Rapid. His rapid sample is small enough to fit in a rowboat: just 28 recorded games. But it includes a perfect 2-0 record in the Sicilian Defense Dragon Variation, a win against Petrov's Defense, and a peak Rapid rating of 1981.
After 26,000 blitz games, Dimitry may say he prefers Rapid, but his true identity is written in the 1.e4 pawn storms and time scrambles of the blitz arena.
