Hi ee00ee0e0 👋 – here’s some targeted feedback from your latest blitz session

What already works

  • Resourcefulness: you frequently find practical chances (three of your last five wins came from worse or equal positions).
  • King safety first: you almost never leave your king in the centre – good automatic habit!
  • Active play: when lines open you’re happy to throw pawns forward and hunt the enemy king – a great trait at ≈1250.

Three priorities to level-up

1 · Stop helping your opponent with early queen moves

In the Scotch win you played 8…Qe7 9…Qd8 – two tempi you could have spent on castling or …d6. Before moving the queen ask yourself “Does this create an immediate threat or improve development?”  If not, pick another move.

2 · French Advance – tame the open c-file

Several losses featured 3…c5 followed by an early trade on d4; White doubled rooks on c-files (Rc1-c7-c8). Fix:

  • After 4.c3 play 4…Nc6 or 4…Qb6 before trading on d4.
  • If you do exchange, meet Rc1 with …Rc8 immediately – contest files before they become enemy highways.

3 · Clock control

You won four games on time and lost one totally winning position the same way. Try the 20-40-40 rule: ~20 % of your clock in the opening, 40 % in the middlegame, 40 % in the ending. Under 30 s, switch to forcing moves you can calculate in your opponent’s time.

Opening kit (quick checklist)

  • As White: the 2.f4 French is fun but high-risk. Add a main-line Advance (4.Nf3) or Tarrasch (3.Nd2) once a day to your study routine.
  • As Black vs 1.e4: You know the Four Knights & Scotch structures. Consider the Italian Two Knights (…Bc5, …Nf6, …d6) to avoid early queen trades.
  • Against 1.d4: Only one sample. A simple Queen’s-Gambit-Declined setup (…d5 …e6 …Nf6 …Be7) would serve you well.

Endgame clinic

Your conversion in the rook-pawn race (56.Qd8+) was clean – keep drilling Lucena & Philidor (10 minutes a day of rook-endgame puzzles).

Action plan for the week

  1. Re-play your most recent loss and write one better alternative for every blunder.
  2. Solve 15 tactics per day (double attacks & pins 1200-1500 range).
  3. Play two 10 + 5 rapid games; spend at least 30 s on each critical move.

Optional sparring partner: el-james-ha-vuelto – your results are almost even; try a rematch at a slower time control!

Enjoy the climb, keep asking good questions, and see you at the next analysis session!
