Hi ErfanGhodsi1384!
Your recent games show real fighting spirit and a sharp eye for tactics. Below is some constructive feedback to help you climb to the next level.
What you’re already doing well
- Tactical alertness – you often spot loose pieces and deliver creative mating attacks. Your win against houzai finished with an elegant rook lift and pawn storm.
- Active piece play – you rarely shy away from bringing pieces forward; this is great for learning tactical patterns quickly.
- High fighting rate – very few short “grand-master draws” in your history! Every game is a learning opportunity.
Key themes to improve
1. Early king safety (especially as Black)
You are often mated before move 15 because the king stays in the centre and the h-pawn / a-pawn moves replace normal development. Compare the two diagrams:
Game vs Praju_100 – mate on move 14:
Notice how Black’s pieces on a8, b8, c6, g8 never joined the game. Contrast that with your own quick mates when you castle early and attack.
2. Develop before hunting pawns
Capturing on b7 or f7 can be fun, but if it leaves pieces undeveloped you risk falling behind. Try following the classic “three-move rule”: Never bring the queen out until three minor pieces are developed and your king is safe.
3. Time management
Several losses occurred in completely playable endings because of flagging. When the position simplifies:
- Play with the increment mentality – move quickly, bank a few seconds, and only then calculate deeply.
- Have an end-game toolbox: king opposition, outside passed pawn, basic rook-endgame checks.
4. Opening repertoire – keep it simple
A narrow, well-studied repertoire scores better than random experiments. Suggested starting kit:
- As White: Italian Game (Giuoco Piano) – easy piece-placement, fast castling, lots of tactics.
- As Black vs 1.e4: Scandinavian with 2…Qxd5 or French Defence. Both give you a clear development scheme and early queen safety rules to practise.
- As Black vs 1.d4/others: King’s Indian set-up (…Nf6, …g6, …Bg7, …d6) – same pattern every game, builds confidence.
Personalised action plan
- Do 10 tactical puzzles every day – focus on mates in 2–3 and “hanging piece” motifs.
- Play three rapid games a week and analyse them right after (with computer off at first).
- Annotate one of your own wins and one loss each week; ask yourself “Which move would I change?”.
- Memorise one basic end-game per week (king & pawn, opposition, Lucena, Philidor, etc.).
