Main improvement areas 🔍

1. Piece safety & blunder check.
   Many losses stem from hanging pieces (e.g., 10.Qxg4? Qxd4!! on 29 June). Before every move, run a quick “blunder check”: 1) “What did my opponent’s last move attack or uncover?”  2) “If I play my intended move, what are their checks, captures or threats?” Training idea: 5-minute tactics every session focusing on “find the opponent’s move”.
2. Kingside safety in sharp lines.
   Several games feature early queen sorties (both sides). Delay queen adventures until you castle; otherwise you spend tempi retreating while falling behind in development. A simple rule: “Don’t move the queen before move 8 unless it wins material or prevents mate.”
3. Time management.
   You have three Daily games lost on time and occasional Rapid resignations when still very playable. Set a reminder to log in for Daily games and make one move; in Rapid keep ~20 seconds in reserve for the final conversion. Practise playing winning endgames quickly on an analysis board to build confidence.

Deep-dive: last victorious Rapid game (25 June)

• Opening: 5…Nxe4?! gave you a tactical chance. Nice calculation with 9.Nxf6⁺ binding Black’s king in the centre.
• Middle-game: Excellent rook lift Rhg1 and pawn storm h4-h6-h7 h8=Q. You kept lines closed around your own king while opening files near theirs.
• Conversion: Once you queened, you coordinated rook, queen and passed pawns smoothly. A small shortcut: after 47…Re7? 48.Rxe7 Kxe7 49.Rxc2 you could have played 50.h7! first to avoid Black’s counterplay.

Action plan for the next two weeks 🗓️

1. Complete 30 puzzles/day on Defensive tactics (forks, pins on your pieces).
2. Analyse one lost game deeply: find the first moment the evaluation swung and write down how to avoid it.
3. Play two 15 +10 games focused on using all three principles each move: Develop, Threaten, Protect. Record your thoughts; compare with engine later.
4. Study a mini-repertoire vs 1.e4: learn the first six moves of the Scandinavian Defense so you have a solid alternative to the Four Knights lines you currently use.
