FuryWind: The Player Who Types GG and Keeps Playing Anyway
Most people type "GG" when a game is over. GG types it while down a rook with four seconds left, then comes back and wins. Known to the ladder as FuryWind, this is a bullet chess obsessive who has been grinding since October 2021, climbing from a fresh-faced 1,300-something to a peak bullet rating of 2432 (2026-10-06). The queen has delivered 8,547 checks along the way. The resignation button, by comparison, is basically decorative.
The Bullet Habit
The volume is the first thing you notice. October 2021: 33 bullet games in the first month. August 2023: 532. July 2026: 466 bullet games plus 498 rapid games, nearly a thousand games in a single month, which is less a hobby and more a cardio program. The climb was a long slog through the 1300s and 1400s, a breakout in 2024, and a May 2025 sprint of 288 bullet games that added roughly 300 points in thirty days. Rapid chess has been nearly as kind, peaking at 2421 (2026-06-23) in June 2026.
Never Resign, Rarely Get Rolled
- Early resignation rate: 1.2%. The record shows 1,713 checkmates suffered versus only 938 resignations. GG would rather be mated than quit.
- Comeback rate: 82.88%. Even after dropping a piece, the win rate sits at 49.4%, so blundering material against GG just turns the game into a coin flip.
- 75.1% of games reach a genuine endgame. Wins average 68 moves, losses average 80. Beating GG takes most of an evening.
- One-sided losses occur just 1.81% of the time. Getting blown out is not in the repertoire.
The Great 1.e4 to 1.d4 Conversion
For years, White meant 1.e4: 34 times in 2021, 779 in 2023, 853 in 2024. Then in 2025 the door closed: 833 games opened 1.d4 and only 6 began with the king pawn. By 2026 the count was 1,190 d4 openers against a single 1.e4, almost certainly a misclick. The new religion is the Amazon Attack, played nearly 500 times in rapid at a 56% clip and usually steered toward the Siberian Attack. There is also a fondness for the Australian Defense (357 bullet games, 57% wins) and hundreds of rounds of the London System's Poisoned Pawn Variation. Median opening prep depth has quintupled since 2021, from one move to five. Character development.
Black-Side Affairs: Keep One Trap Loaded
As Black, GG carries the Blackburne Shilling Gambit in the coat pocket. That cheeky 3...Nd4?! has appeared 76 times in bullet with a 62% win rate, a spectacular return on objectively questionable chess.
Meanwhile, opponents keep trying to ambush with the Amar Gambit, 168 bullet encounters so far. GG wins only 43% of them, which means the most mocked opening on the internet keeps collecting scalps. Chess is humbling.
Familiar Faces
Rivalries matter here. clint_og has met GG 31 times and has never once managed a draw, currently sitting at 22 wins to 9 losses, the most decisive rivalry on the books. khanhnhan957 owns the true nemesis title at 16-8, and milotos leads the anti-GG coalition at 14-8 with 5 draws. On the friendlier end of the ledger, James Bond has been on the receiving end 15 times. A sample of the damage: Watch the clash.
Operating Manual
- Prime time is 21:00, where the win rate hits 80%, with 22:00 close behind at 75%. At 1:00 AM it collapses to 39%. Do not trust anything GG plays after midnight.
- Best day of the week is Monday (55%); worst is Friday, presumably exhausted from the week's bullet marathon.
- Tilt factor: 9 out of 100. Glacier-level composure.
- Longest win streak: 13 games. Longest losing streak: only 9.
- Versus lower-rated opposition: 67% wins. Versus higher-rated: 28%. Versus equals: 52%. GG farms down and fights up, exactly as designed.
The rating graph points up and to the right. The resignation rate points nowhere, because it barely exists.
