Gilemme: Night-Shift Grinder of the Online Chess Scene
Gilemme arrived in May 2023 and skipped the usual slow burn, storming from 1757 to 2250 in blitz chess within a single month: 110 games, 62 wins, 41 losses. Rapid chess got the same treatment with a 23-3-1 debut, and by December 2023 the bullet peak had already reached its all-time high. Three years later, the ledger reads like a novel about stubbornness, a climbing rating curve, and a career-long refusal to tilt.
Rapid Chess: The Fortress
Rapid is Gilemme's declared home, and the numbers agree: 164 wins against 61 losses with 17 draws, a win rate pushing 68%, and a peak of 2347 (2026-08-27) reached in August 2026. The opening menu there is ruthlessly efficient. The Scandinavian Defense scores 87.5% in 16 games, the Giuoco Piano: Tarrasch Variation sits at 76.9%, and the offbeat Amazon Attack went a flawless 8-0. Opponents should hope for daylight hours. Or any hours, really.
Blitz Chess: The Great Equilibrium
With more than 8,500 blitz games logged, the record stands at 3913 wins, 3972 losses and 653 draws. That is a 50/50 coin flip maintained over years of effort, which is either bad luck or performance art. The comeback numbers are the tell: an 85.75% comeback rate, only 2.53% of losses completely one-sided, and a tilt factor so low it barely registers. Wins average about 76 moves while losses end around 65, proving that Gilemme loses fast and wins slow. The peak of 2513 (2026-10-03) landed in October 2026, capping a steady climb: 2170 in 2023, 2304 in 2025, and 2461 and counting in 2026.
The Repertoire: 1.e4, Forever
Nine out of ten games as White begin with the king's pawn, and the French Defense: Advance Variation is the workhorse: 403 blitz games and counting. The Sicilian Defense family gets plenty of traffic too, from the Kharlov-Kramnik line of the Closed Sicilian to 216 battles in the Najdorf, plus the Accelerated Dragon on the black side, where the Maróczy Bind has been a surprisingly friendly guest at 53.6% over 153 games. There have also been 202 experiments stealing the poisoned pawn against the London System, which remains, regrettably, poisoned.
The Rivalry Ledger
Long careers accumulate a cast of characters, and Gilemme's is well stocked.
- primedinilsou: 44 meetings, 43 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws. Less a rivalry than a subscription.
- juless07bg: 34 games, 30-4. A favorite sparring partner who keeps coming back for more.
- legabzer: 16-1 in 17 games. The 1 remains a sore subject.
- the-big-penetrator: 4-9-2. The username promises aggression, and the scoreboard agrees.
- akopjazz: 2-8-3. The jazz combo that keeps stealing the tempo.
- Ririchess00: 6-7-2. The only honest coin-flip rivalry in the bunch.
Night Shift: Habits and Oddities
- The best hour of the day is 4 AM, with a win rate north of 81%. The best day is Thursday. Playing after sunrise is not recommended.
- The rook is the preferred weapon of harassment: over 6,500 career rook checks. The king has personally checked someone just 26 times, each one presumably an accident.
- More games have been won on the clock (1,072) than by checkmate (769). The flag counts as a legal mating net.
- Early resignation rate: 1.26%. There have been 57 career stalemates, all hard earned.
- Endgames appear in 71.67% of games, so bring a lunch. Casual games run about 27 points better than rated ones, suggesting that points make it personal.
- Longest win streak: 19 games. Longest losing streak: 11. The ratio checks out.
- Daily chess exists in the archive mostly as a rumor: 12 lifetime games and an 8-3-1 record.
