Ido Gorshtein, better known online as Guriempire, is a FIDE Grandmaster who has turned Blitz chess into a marathon of creativity. With more than 27,000 analyzed online games, he has built a reputation as a tireless, flexible, and fiercely competitive speed chess specialist.
Career Trajectory
Gorshtein's rise was not instant. He entered the online Blitz scene in 2014 at a modest 1374 rating and steadily climbed through a decade of heavy play. By March 2023 he touched a career peak Blitz rating of 2922 (2023-03-27). The arc of that climb is remarkable:
Playing Style and Repertoire
As Black, Gorshtein leans on the solid Caro-Kann Defense, a favorite in more than 2,600 Blitz games.
