Hi Hassona2 – your personalised post-match feedback
What you already do well
- Tactical alertness. In your recent Ragozin win versus omer_ceylan you spotted the long forcing sequence 24 …O-O-O+ and never let go of the initiative.
- Willingness to play for dynamic imbalances. Breaks such as …b5 and kingside pawn storms (…h6/…g5) show healthy fighting spirit.
- Conversion skills when ahead. Several victories end with clean mating nets or easily won endings – a sign of good calculation once the advantage is secured.
Recurring trouble-spots
- King safety vs. pawn pushes.
Pushing flank pawns before completing development often left your king exposed. A typical example is the Smith-Morra loss, where loose dark squares allowed a back-rank mate: - Piece coordination in the early middlegame.
Loose pieces (e.g. queen on h5 and rook on f5 vs. pk829112) became easy tactical targets. Aim to connect rooks and keep minor pieces defending each other before starting an attack. - Time management.
In blitz you often fall below 15 s, and a daily game was lost on time. Adopt a “candidate-move + blunder-check” routine to save seconds for critical moments.
2-week improvement plan
- Opening clinic. Keep the Ragozin vs 1.d4 and add one solid reply to 1.e4 (e.g. the Caro-Kann). Annotate three master games in each.
- King-safety checklist before every pawn thrust: ① All pieces developed? ② King castled? ③ Squares I’m weakening covered?
- Tactics diet. Ten minutes of back-rank and double-attack puzzles after every playing session (the motifs that hurt you in the Smith-Morra and Italian losses).
- Reflective practice. Play two 10-min rapid games a day and spend at least equal time analysing them with arrows and comments.

Pre-game mental checklist
- Develop and castle early.
- Fight for the centre with pieces, not just pawns.
- After spotting a good move, pause and look for tactics for both sides.
- When ahead, simplify; when chasing the king, keep pieces on.
Keep enjoying the process and the rating gains will follow. Good luck in your next games, Hassona2!
