incognito-idiot: The Least Threatening Name in Blitz Chess

Most online chess players choose usernames that flatter them. incognito-idiot chose radical honesty, then spent the next two years making that name look like the worst self-scouting report ever filed. This is a blitz specialist with over 700 wins, a 2153 (2026-09-23) peak, and a 91% comeback rate, which means the only idiot at the board is usually the opponent who accepted the challenge.

The battlefield of choice is blitz, with 1,447 rated games and counting. Bullet? A two-game career, two losses. Those two losses came against the Amar Gambit, an opening this player routinely beats from the black side in blitz. The chess gods have a sense of humor, and so does this biography.

One Opening to Rule Them All

Ask about opening theory and you get one answer, delivered with total confidence: 1...d5. The Scandinavian Defense appears in 419 blitz games, roughly one out of every three, with 388 of them played from the black side. The queen strides to d5, recaptures, steps back to a5, and the long grind begins. It is less an opening than a lifestyle.

  • As White, virtually every game opens with 1.e4, feeding Sicilian players straight into the Sicilian Defense: Alapin Variation, a personal ATM scoring 60.9% across 133 games.
  • Anyone who dares the Barnes Defense is simply donating rating points at a 73.68% clip.
  • The black side has leaks. The Amazon Attack wins only 25.64%, the Queen's Gambit Declined line with 2...Bf5 sits near 29.55%, and the Wiedenhagen-Beta Gambit is best left unmentioned at 26.09%.
  • Against the London System, the Poisoned Pawn line scores a tidy 60% as Black. The poison clearly runs in both directions.

How the Games Actually Get Won

This is a grinder's profile. Wins average 71 moves, losses average 81, and 81.44% of all games reach a proper endgame. There is no shortcut in the repertoire, only the slow, Patient horror of outlasting people who came to blitz for excitement.

  • Comeback rate: 91.21%. Even after dropping a piece, nearly half the games are still won.
  • Early resignation rate of 75% means no hope chess. When it is lost, the handshake comes quickly and with dignity.
  • 202 wins by timeout. The flag falls, the point is collected, no apologies are issued.
  • 1,437 checks delivered by the queen, comfortably the favorite checking piece of all time.
  • Only 79 draws in 1,447 games, including 8 glorious stalemates. Decisive to the end.
  • The 9 PM hour produces a 71.43% win rate. By 10 PM it collapses to 25%. The clock strikes ten and the pumpkin returns to the lobby.

Rivals, Nemesis Figures, and Favorite Victims

Every blitz regular keeps a contacts list, and this one is written partly in tears.

  • The nemesis committee: 3lmasgrand3 (1-6-1), jonawick2 (1-5-0), and turge393 (2-6-0). Combined, these three own the account.
  • bobthebrewer provides the classic eight-game rivalry: two wins, four losses, two draws, and presumably no hard feelings.
  • Favorite victims: posvalyuk at 5-1 and Truman1003 at 5-2, the two opponents who keep coming back for more.

The Climb

September 2025 brought arrival in the 1700s. Within two months the 2000 barrier had fallen, and on a September evening in 2026 the counter flickered up to 2153, the account high point, riding a nine-game winning streak. The longest losing streak tops out at seven, and the response to it is always the same: rejoin the queue, hit 1.e4, and play the same trusted 1...d5 as Black until the board apologizes.

The final verdict writes itself. Incognito? Absolutely. Idiot? The scoreboard says otherwise.
