The Sky's the Limit
Akash Thomas Robert, known online as ItsMrSkyChess, is a streamer who lives up to his handle. From a 598 Blitz floor in January 2025 to a 1994 peak a year later, his rise has been anything but boring. He plays fast, fights hard, and brings viewers along for every swing. Blitz is his natural habitat, but his results in Rapid show that he can slow down when it matters.
Climbing the Ladder
The numbers tell a story of serious improvement. Akash entered 2025 around the 700s in Blitz and finished the year at 1977. A particularly wild month saw his Rapid rating explode from 1204 to 2070 after 250 games, proof of what can happen when talent meets volume.
A Repertoire Built on d4
On the white side, Akash almost always reaches for 1.d4, playing it more than 3,600 times in the sample. As Black, he favors the Scandinavian Defense and the Alekhine Defense, using both as sharp counter-attacking weapons. His Scandinavian results are especially strong, with a high win rate across Blitz, Rapid, and even Daily games.
His style is active and checking-minded. The queen is his most common checking piece, and he delivers the first check in about 60% of his games. That aggression helps explain his fast starts and his love of complicated middlegames.
Known Rivals and Grit
Every grinder needs a measuring stick, and for ItsMrSkyChess that stick is ishaangarg1235. They have met 138 times in the database, making it the most played rivalry on his account. The head-to-head has been tough, but those battles have clearly shaped Akash into a more resilient competitor.
His 76.12% comeback rate shows a player who does not fold. Even after losing a piece, he still wins more than half of his games. The 14-game losing streak may be ugly, but it is followed by a 20-game winning streak, which is the kind of bounce-back that defines a strong competitor.
