Meet Magnum Chadsen
Magnum Chadsen, known to the online chess world as jachetheboss, is a bullet and blitz specialist with a decade long love affair with the 64 squares. While the name may echo a certain world champion, this Chadsen has carved out his own legend through sheer volume, grit, and an almost supernatural tolerance for rematches. His preferred time control is bullet, where the clock is loud and the moves are faster than second thoughts.
From 900 to 2300
Chadsen began his online journey in 2014 with a blitz rating hovering near 900. By 2026 he had touched 2384 (2026-02-02) in blitz and 2261 (2023-12-15) in bullet, proof that slow and steady (and occasionally chaotic) progress can carry a player a very long way. His path included a soul crushing 42 game losing streak, followed by a 20 game winning streak that showed exactly what happens when the boss locks in.
With more than 40,000 rated games to his name, he is one of the most prolific grinders you will ever meet. His average games stretch past 70 moves, meaning he rarely takes the easy way out, even when the easy way is right there.
Playing Style and Repertoire
Magnum Chadsen is a 1.e4 player through and through. He has faced the Sicilian Defense thousands of times as White, and he answers the Scandinavian Defense with the same confident energy whether he is White or Black. His repertoire also leans heavily on the French Defense, the Caro-Kann, and the Alekhine Defense, with a fondness for sharp lines and unbalanced positions.
His tactical instincts are real: he wins after losing a piece more than 43 percent of the time, and his comeback rate sits above 83 percent. He also delivers the first check in nearly half of his games, and when he does, his winning percentage jumps to 53 percent.
The Rivalry
No story about jachetheboss is complete without mentioning his greatest rival, Nicholas Xie. These two have faced each other more than 1,000 times, which is either a beautiful friendship or a very expensive therapy bill. The head to head record is brutally one sided: playchessnownick has won 945 of those battles. Yet Chadsen keeps coming back, game after game, refusing to let the rivalry end. That kind of persistence is either admirable or slightly unhinged. Probably both.
He also has friendlier hunting grounds. Against opponents like rajit23 and kickedwhisper he has enjoyed dominant records, proving that when the matchup is right, he can be the boss his username promises.
