Meet Juri
Juri is a streamer, a keyboard warrior, and a living reminder that chess stats can look like a stress test. Since April 2014, the same Juri account has racked up more than 40,000 rated games, mostly in the one time control that rewards clairvoyance, computer mice built for rapid clicking, and sheer stubbornness: bullet.
The Bullet Grind
Juri started as a 1000-ish bullet player, fell back to earth a few times, and still managed to break through the 2000 barrier after a decade of churn. The peak is 2067 (2026-07-29), but the path was not a straight line. It was more like a roller coaster, or perhaps a chain of root canals. The longest losing streak hit 19 games, the longest winning streak reached 16, so Juri spent every year repaying the chess gods in suffering.
Signature Repertoire
Openings matter, but Juri prefers animals. The most repeated weapon is the Amazon Attack, a main source of tactical chaos for thousands of bullet battles. The Czech Defense is where the laugh lands: across all time controls Juri wins about 64% of those games. The French Defense also shows up regularly, presumably because the endgame is an acceptable small-talk topic.
Rivalry
No single opponent defines a player quite like Nathan defines Juri. They have crossed pawns 769 times, and it has not always been a friendship. Juri ended up on the losing side 547 times, which either proves a sense of duty, a harmless streak, or a 10 year relationship with the chessboard equivalent of a plumber who charges by the hour.
Stats and Secrets
A decade of chaos leaves behind a few quirks:
- Best time to play: 11:00, when the win rate is 50.7%; the worst stretch appears to be 08:00, maybe because the coffee has not arrived.
- Juri plays until the end: the endgame frequency is 71.3%, the kind of avoidance of resignation that causes long games and great highlights.
- A comeback rate of about 79.5% and a win rate after losing a piece of 44.2% means even the bad positions are not always dead positions.
- Against higher rated players Juri scores 29.1%, but when rated below the opponent? Not the same story; the score is 64.9%.
