KodachiCherry: Blitz Volume Merchant and Part-Time Gambit Martyr
The Blitz Grind
Some players study openings. Some memorize endgame tables. KodachiCherry clicks the blitz button. Since first appearing in August 2023, KodachiCherry has stacked up more than 11,700 blitz games, split almost perfectly down the middle: 5,625 wins, 5,594 losses and 544 draws. A career .500 record at that volume is not mediocrity, it is consistency on an industrial scale.
The journey started near 1000 and eventually reached 1649 (2026-10-14) in blitz, with a few scenic cliffs along the way:
An Opening Repertoire Built on Character Development
As Black, the backbone is the Czech Defense with over 1,100 blitz appearances, flanked by the Modern and the gloriously stubborn Barnes Defense, which has been wheeled out nearly 900 times. Most players try the Barnes once, lose in twenty moves and pretend it never happened. KodachiCherry turned it into a long-term relationship and still wins 48 percent of those games.
As White it is d4 country: more than 800 games of London Poisoned Pawn Variation provocations, plus a genuinely strong English Opening: Closed Taimanov setup scoring 64 percent. Then there is the Amar Gambit. KodachiCherry has played it 210 times as White with a 12.86 percent win rate, meaning roughly one opponent in eight sat down expecting free points and somehow got outplayed by the worst gambit in the book. That is not theory. That is performance art.
The Scandinavian Defense, at a 38 percent win rate, remains the repertoire's designated complaint department.
The Rivalry Ledger
Every grinder has a food chain. On the tasty end, aviatorfaporg has been dispatched 30-2-1 across 33 meetings, and raoulsapporo sits at a grim 0-20-1. On the painful end lives the nemesis trio: iamsucvatbamsinh at 0-27, jokers123b at 0-24 and ondatraman at 0-17. Combined score against those three: zero wins, 68 losses. At some point a rivalry stops being a rivalry and becomes a subscription service.
Playing Style: Grind First, Resign Never
- Comeback artist: an 84.67 percent comeback rate. Drop a piece against KodachiCherry and it was a hostage, not a donation.
- Marathon runner: 71.48 percent of games reach the endgame, with wins averaging 65 moves. Blitz this long deserves its own time control.
- Never quits: an early resignation rate of just 6.12 percent. KodachiCherry does not tilt out, KodachiCherry tilts forward.
- Clock assassin: 1,323 wins by timeout. The flag is a legal scoring method and it gets used.
- Queen's messenger: over 11,500 queen checks delivered, making Her Majesty the preferred door-knocking service by a landslide.
The data hints at a tilt factor of 125 and some questionable late-night sessions, but the schedule is solved: win rates peak above 61 percent around 10 in the morning and collapse to roughly 35 percent near 6 AM. Coffee first, blitz second.
Streaks and Other Natural Disasters
The longest winning streak reached 19 straight victories. The longest losing streak reached 125. Yes, 125. Only a player with this kind of volume can absorb a 125-game skid and still finish with a career winning record, which might be the most impressive number on this entire page.
And for the record, the quiet flex is rapid chess, where the peak of 1778 dwarfs every other mark. Slow KodachiCherry down and the sword gets sharper, but the cherry, as always, goes on the blitz board. The queue is one click away, and it always is.
