Albano Cuevas

Albano Cuevas: The Man, The Myth, The Kombo1

Some people play chess. Albano Cuevas, known to the internet as Kombo1, has instead entered a long-term relationship with it. With tens of thousands of games under his belt, Albano is less a chess player and more a chess resident, possibly paying rent to the board. His weapon of choice? Bullet chess, where pieces fly, flags fall, and dignity is optional.

Kombo1 opened his account back in 2019 with a modest rating and a simple plan: play Blitz chess until either his fingers or his opponents gave out. By every measurable metric, both are still holding on.
