Julius Silvederio_PCAP

Julius Silvederio_PCAP, known on the boards as koromarbel, is a no-nonsense, high-speed chess phenomenon. Give him a clock, especially a tiny one, and he becomes a different kind of chess player altogether. With tens of thousands of games under his control, he is the kind of competitor who will play more games before breakfast than most people would have after a whole weekend.

The Need for Speed

Julius lives for motion. His preferred time control is bullet, and the stats prove it. He has taken the board in huge seasonal bursts, including a 1,467-game month where he faced endless pal. No castle wall was safer from his attack than a reasonable sleep schedule. He has appeared as high as 2596 in bullet, and his lifetime bullet record shows more than 6,700 decisive battles.

The streak tells the story too: a 13-game winning run shows he can be unstoppable. A 15-game losing streak, however, warns that sometimes the little lightning bolt lands on his head instead.

Repertoire

Despite his great need for speed, Julius is a curious and flexible opener. He has starred in a storyline with the Amar Gambit more than 1,200 times, a line that screams for the chess culture. He also enjoys the whip and patience of the Sicilian Defense family, especially when he is facing the board. The King has his own favorite: the Caro-Kann Defense shows up frequently, and his attacks against the French Defense modern.

His style is not a one-trick. He knows when to attack the center, when to accept a pawn, and when to just use the clock as a weapon. Even in positions that look losing, he finds strange squares to place the pieces, and the opponent is left wondering what just happened.

Rivalries

Every regular chess gun has rivals, and Julius has created quite the collection. His most frequent dance partner has been nicholson97, facing that opponent 93 times and turning it into a real rivalry. He also crossed swords many times with emiliofelix ramirez and [[Liink|profile|2011king|2011king]], where neither side ever wants to grind out a peaceful draw.

When Julius meets these familiar names, expect someone to lose. With only one in every ten games between the elites, something is always going too fast, and usually both of them.

Fighters, Farmers Comebacks

Julius is not a quitter. He comes back from the dead in about 82 of every 100 lost-looking positions, and he can still win after giving up a piece more than 43 percent of the time. His one-sided loss rate is almost tiny, which means he rarely gets steamrolled. Even when he gets in trouble, he twists the game into a knife fight with both arms behind his back.

His best hours are in the evening, around 19:00, when his hands and his clarity begin to line up. On quiet days, his work shows a slightly calmer temperament, but ask his opponents and they will tell you: never trust him when the pawns are heavy and the clock is short.
