Camilo Torres, known to the online chess world simply as Krimator, has been grinding clocks since August 2014. Since then he has played more than 22,600 rated games, with bullet as his main stage at over 11,400 contests, a volume of play best described as a lifestyle rather than a hobby. The truly impressive part is the arithmetic: roughly 10,800 wins against about 10,700 losses, a career margin thin enough to slip through a knight fork. Krimator does not blow opponents off the board. He outlasts them, one long game at a time.
The Climb Since 2014
He arrived rated 1200 and finished his very first month of bullet near 1700. By late 2015 he was flirting with 2000, by 2019 he was a 2100-plus fixture, and by 2021 he had touched 2300 in both bullet and blitz. The breakthrough came in 2026, when within a few spring weeks he set his bullet peak of 2479 (2026-04-15) and his blitz peak of 2472 (2026-03-15), both within a whisker of 2,500.
The Repertoire: 1.c4 Forever, Caro-Kann Always
As White, Krimator plays the English Opening. By plays we mean he has opened with 1.c4 roughly 10,800 times, which means he has played that single move more often than he has won games in his life. In 2026, all but 30 of his 1,487 White games began with it. The English Opening: Symmetrical Variation is his most profitable territory, scoring near 58% in blitz, with the Agincourt Defense and the King's English not far behind.
As Black, his one true faith is the Caro-Kann Defense, played in more than 3,600 games at a win rate in the low 40s, a ratio that would make an accountant weep but which Krimator treats as a bond that cannot be broken. His best results come in the Classical Variation and against the Panov Attack, where he clears 50%. When opponents head for flank territory, he answers with the spicy Amar Gambit, and he would gladly pay real money to never see the Amazon Attack or the Nimzo-Larsen Attack again, the two setups that have done the most damage to his black-side record.
How Krimator Plays: Endgame Marathons and Comebacks
An endgame frequency of 87.62% means nearly nine in ten Krimator games reach the endgame, and his average game length of about 80 moves applies even in bullet, where 80 moves is less a chess game than a cardio session. He is built for the long haul: a comeback rate of 84.53%, a 45.61% win rate even after losing a piece, and a one-sided loss rate of just 0.64%. When his position dies, it dies slowly and on his terms.
The finishing blow is usually supplied by the opponent. Krimator has delivered checkmate in fewer than 1% of his analyzed games, with resignation and flag fall supplying most of his wins, so he does not so much deliver mate as negotiate it. When he does check, it is usually with the queen, more than 18,000 times and counting, and he wins 57% of the games in which he checks first. His 35% early resignation rate shows the other side of the same coin: once a position is beyond saving, he does not stay for the funeral.

The Rapid Paradox
His profile lists Rapid as the preferred time control, and the evidence agrees with a straight face: he has played exactly ten Rapid games in twelve years and won nine of them, a 90% strike rate that no other format approaches. His Rapid peak of 2054 (2026-08-12) arrived in August 2026 during a nine-game spree in which he won eight. If Krimator ever truly commits to slower chess, the Rapid pool should be warned.
