Meet Krukyah
Krukyah is a high volume online chess battler whose preferred battlefield is Blitz. Since arriving in early 2020, they have played thousands of games, turning wild rating swings into a long, steady climb. What started as a 1369 Blitz adventure, complete with an early tumble to 1059, eventually became a run to a Blitz peak of 2256 (2026-05-05) and a Rapid peak of 2383 (2025-04-19).
The Long Climb
Krukyah's rating history is a story of persistence. The numbers show a player who simply refuses to stop, with months of 500 or even 700 games. That dedication paid off as their Blitz rating pushed past 1800 in late 2020, touched 1900 in 2022, and later exploded through 2200 in late 2024. The chart below tells the story.
Although Blitz is home, Krukyah also built a strong Rapid game and crossed the 2300 mark in 2025. Their best results have come through sheer volume, learning from every loss and stacking wins in between.
Opening Repertoire
As White, Krukyah has always loved 1.e4, but the record also shows a later romance with the Nimzo-Larsen Attack, including more than 600 b3 games in 2025 alone. As Black, they are a lifelong student of the Sicilian Defense, especially the Alapin and Najdorf variations. The Caro-Kann Defense is another pillar of the repertoire, delivering a 63 percent win rate in Blitz games.
Fighting Spirit
Krukyah rarely goes quietly. Their comeback rate is 80.62 percent, and they win 53 percent of games even after losing a piece. They also love to attack, delivering 37,992 checks against 28,525 from opponents, with the queen as the favorite checking piece. The longest winning streak stands at 17 games, while a 14 game losing streak only seemed to fuel the next comeback.
Most of Krukyah's wins come by resignation, which suggests opponents often decide the fight is over before the final move. Add an early bird habit, and you get a player who is dangerous at any hour, but especially at 06:00, when the win rate climbs to 60 percent.
Rivals and Habits
No opponent has faced Krukyah more than Chhinsong Pa, a rivalry spanning 96 games. Krukyah owns the head to head with 62 wins, 22 losses, and 12 draws. It is the kind of rivalry that defines an online chess career, and one that shows Krukyah thrives on familiar pressure.
