Meet Leonardo Espinha Alonso
Leonardo Espinha Alonso, known on the board as LeoAlonso, is a National Master with a menagerie of rare openings and a reputation for turning lost positions into lessons. While his dashboard says Bullet is the chosen time control, anyone watching his long stream of Blitz and Rapid games knows he treats every clock like it's already tally again.
The path to master status was not a quiet walk through the book. Leonardo prefers to leap into the exotic side of the tree: the , the of the Modern Defence, and the kind of lines that make opening textbooks blush. It turns out that offbeat energy works: he has scored heavily as both White and Black in truly distinctive systems.
Fearsome. Family Friendly? Not Quite
Leo has faced a regular cast of opponents, and his record reads like a family tree with scoreboard attached. Against he has played over one hundred games, winning more than cold streaks. His longest hitting a 22, yes 22 victory marker.
No one is a brick wall, even a brick: his longest losing stream lasted 11, and he has a curious name or two that enjoy touching him wrong (one such sheet matters). Yet he never stays down for long. The comeback rate sits around 77% and he still fires over 53% wins even after losing first material. Check the winning charts and you will see why his fans never mute the alert.
Arr
Tactical Terrier
One-typed losses are rare for Leo; only about 7% of his losses are completely one-direction. He also doesn't wait for permission: he is first to check in more than half the games, and when he is the first to send the enemy King skating, his win rate jumps to 65%. He must love those risks.
Personality in groups: weekdays do not matter, he is profitable on any day, even if Monday wants to be low. The oh-so-innocent 09:00 seems to be his phone selenium hour, but he also picks up a late coffee. The time control font is Bullet, where his peak stands at 1948 (2026-05-27).
His opening boards: White loves the Arabic system and the Australian Defence, though "Australian" sometimes appears in his White stats, even if the opening books cannot quite agree. Black has deprived the Sicilian Dragon and Pterodactyl, while the reverse safe-looking Caro Kann is pure venom in bullet. He simply finds a way.
Not a section about ratings? Fine, but note that the peak rating said: Blitz was worth arm turn over 2600, and in Rapid he was above 2100.
Archive and Show
If you want to watch him play weird and win anyway, look up his games against (those are numerous). Many of them end with a premature scrutiny in the opening. Perhaps one day we will see a full workshop named "When is it a piece lost?" Do.
For the rest, the party continues at 2026 in a big arena called "help."
