Anthon (leviano): The 39,584 Game Man of Online Chess
Anthon, known across the online chess world by his handle leviano, logged in for the first time in December 2012 and apparently never located the exit. Since then he has played 39,584 rated games of bullet, blitz, rapid and daily chess, a total that would make most players' mice file for early retirement. His first blitz rating was a humble 1037. From that modest launchpad he built one of the internet's great grinding careers, one two minute scuffle at a time.
The Long Climb: A Blitz Chess Career in Progress
The rise has been slow, stubborn and glorious. After steady progress through the mid 2010s, Anthon took a mysterious three game sabbatical in 2020, then returned in 2022 with the focus of a man who had made peace with his mouse. April 2022 alone produced 460 bullet games. By July 2026 his blitz peak had reached 2341 (2026-07-14), with bullet topping out at 2150 and rapid at 2311 along the way.
The bullet ledger alone reads 9,149 wins against 10,048 losses, roughly a decade of fast paced fencing. His wins average 63 moves and his losses 71, which tells you everything: he never leaves a party early.
Openings: The Amazon, the Czech and One Nasty Trap
Anthon's repertoire reads like a personality test. As White he spent years piloting the Amazon Attack, a swaggering setup with an early bishop to c4 and an even earlier pawn shove to b4; the bullet database logs 3,597 of them. Around 2024 he retired his king's pawn, converted to 1.d4 and never looked back. As Black he is a lifelong ambassador of the Czech Defense, deployed thousands of times with steadfast loyalty, and he keeps the Blackburne Shilling Gambit holstered for bullet sessions, where it wins nearly 64 percent of the time.
Take the e5 pawn at your own peril, because the queen swing to g5 is coming. Beyond the traps, almost three of every four of his games reach an endgame, and his most common checking piece is the queen, with more than 30,000 royal inspections on record.
Daily Chess: The Preferred Time Control Paradox
Here is the twist for a man who plays bullet as if the pieces are on fire: his preferred time control is Daily chess. The sample size is tiny, 11 games with 8 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw, and a peak of 1636 (2023-09-18), but the results are downright silly. His Czech Defense is 2 for 2 in daily play, the French Defense Winawer a perfect 1 for 1, and the only things to ever beat him there are an Amar Gambit and the general concept of the Vienna Gambit, plus one stubborn Pirc draw. Slow chess, it seems, is where leviano goes to feel invincible.
Rivalries Worth the Entry Fee
Every grinder needs a nemesis, a favorite matchup and an archrival. Anthon has all three:
- bata_bg: 66 meetings, with a record of 31 wins, 31 losses and 4 draws. That is not a rivalry, that is a coin flip with a grudge.
- teguhdybala: 37 meetings, 21 wins, only 6 losses and 10 draws. The matchup he saves for days when he needs a hug.
- anissamuffiani: 35 meetings, 9 wins and 26 losses. Every hero needs a wall, and this one appears to be load bearing.
The Fine Print
- Longest winning streak: 13 games. Longest losing streak: 13 games. The universe keeps his books perfectly balanced.
- Flag war veteran: 11,842 losses on time, but also 4,480 wins stolen while the opponent's clock bled out.
- When a position is truly dead he knows it: 43 percent of his losses end in an early, dignified resignation.
- Drop a full piece on him and do not celebrate too soon; he still wins about 44 percent of games after losing material.
- Best hour to play: 9 in the morning. Best day: Monday. Sunday has been noticeably less generous.
- Versus lower rated opponents he wins 67.5 percent; versus higher rated ones, 31.7 percent. A generous donor to the rating pool.
- His tilt factor sits at a remarkably serene 13.
- The entire 2020 season: three games. Even legends take breathers.
