Profile: Lild4n

Meet Lild4n, the Rapid-timing chess adventurer who wields the queen’s gambit and knightly maneuvers with a mix of dogged determination and occasional tactical surprises. From a blistering peak Rapid rating of 579 in mid-2023 to a recent resurgence touching 292 in 2025, Lild4n's journey is anything but linear—kind of like their opening choices!

Chess Odyssey

Starting strong with a perfect 1-0 Rapid game in July 2023, Lild4n quickly realized that victories aren’t always guaranteed. Facing ups and downs like a cinematic rollercoaster, their longest winning streak spans an impressive 5 games, mirroring their current hot streak. On the flip side, an 8-game losing streak once taught the value of humble pie—served cold but necessary for growth.

Opening Repertoire

Lild4n loves a good challenge, dabbling in openings like the Queen's Pawn Opening and its tricky Chigorin Variation despite a 20% win rate there. When feeling particularly cheeky, the King's Pawn Opening - King's Knight Variation has yielded a flawless 100% success! They also flirt with the Reti Opening Pirc Invitation and the Blackmar Gambit, showing a penchant for the unpredictable and the dramatic.

Playing Style & Stats

  • Average moves per win: ~38 (because patience is a virtue)
  • Average moves per loss: ~37 (close, but not close enough!)
  • White pieces win rate: 35% – maybe white needs a pep talk
  • Black pieces win rate: 52% – black’s definitely the power color here
  • Comeback rate: a mighty 63% — never say die!
  • Known to resign early about 22% of times (because sometimes, you just know it's futile)

Opponent Highlights

Lild4n has a mysterious vendetta (or friendship) with opponents like dibisbucuk, kabbu12, and mosaqr200 – boasting a clean 100% record against them. Some rivals have proven tough nuts to crack — no shame in that, every hero needs a worthy nemesis!

Peak Moments

With a daily rating shining at 400 in April 2025 and a resilient comeback win against dibisbucuk using the daring Blackmar Gambit, Lild4n proves that persistence and a sprinkle of creativity win matches and hearts alike.

Fun Fact

The best time for Lild4n to play is the bright and early hour of 10:00 AM — apparently, coffee and chess make an unbeatable combo.

Coach's Avatar

Hey Lild4n, here’s some constructive feedback based on your recent games!

👍 What you’re already doing well

  • Fighting spirit – you often choose active, aggressive pawn breaks ( …d5 vs 1.e4,  …e5 vs the Blackmar-Diemer) and try to seize the initiative early.
  • Tactical alertness – several wins came from spotting forks and double attacks, e.g.  …Qb4# versus makakiolsg. Keep sharpening this skill with puzzles.
  • Good use of the clock in blitz – most of your victories end with you ahead on time or forcing an early resignation.

🔍 Biggest improvement priorities

  1. Opening fundamentals before fancy ideas
    • In multiple losses you played early pawn moves & queen sorties that left pieces undeveloped.
    • Aim for 3 simple goals in the first 10 moves: control the centre, develop minor pieces, castle. Everything else is optional until those are done.
  2. King safety
    • Example from the loss to khweziq: after 6.gxf3 your king remained in the centre while Black’s pieces swarmed in.
    • Make castling an automatic habit unless a concrete tactic says otherwise.
  3. Avoid hanging pieces
    • In the game versus 2000elo-inchallah you lost both rooks to  …Rxh1 and  …Nxg3.
    • When the opponent threatens two things at once, choose the move that solves the bigger threat first—even if it feels passive.
  4. End every calculation with “What can my opponent do?”
    • In several defeats you launched an attack but overlooked the defender’s counter-shot (e.g. 10…Bxd6! refuting Nxd6+).
    • Force yourself to name the opponent’s best reply before you play a move in tactical positions.

🗺️ Study roadmap for the next month

  • Play a fixed opening repertoire for 30 games: as White use 1.e4, as Black use the Scandinavian vs 1.e4 and the Queen’s Gambit Declined vs 1.d4. Simplicity beats surprise at this stage.
  • Solve 20 tactics per day (themes: pins, forks, discovered attacks). Track streaks with a notebook.
  • Annotate every loss. Write one sentence for each move where the engine says ±1.5 or worse: “What did I miss?”
  • Play one longer (15|10) game each week and analyse it without an engine for 15 minutes before checking the computer.

🎯 Concrete example – reviewing your last rated loss

Key takeaway: after 5.f3 you opened your own king. Instead, 5.Nge2 (develop) → O-O → f3 later is safer.
