M1ERU-San: The National Master Who Simply Does Not Lose at Rapid

The Story So Far

Every chess biography needs a hook, and M1ERU-San's is carved in stone: a National Master title, a beloved habit of opening with 1.e4 in 269 of 284 recorded games, and a rapid chess record that looks like an accounting error. Thirty-four rated rapid games. Thirty-four wins. Zero losses. Zero draws. While most players negotiate half points, M1ERU-San prefers the full shipment.

But do not mistake this for a one-format wonder. The blitz ledger holds 538 games of hard-fought, rook-swinging warfare, because a perfect record is lovely, but a scrap is memorable.

The Rapid Paradox

Rapid is listed as the preferred time control, and the results suggest the universe agrees. A flawless 10-0 in May 2026 was followed by an even ruder 24-0 in June, sweeping the 2202 (2026-06-27) up to 2202 without a single blemish. Opponents arrived, sat down, and presumably left wondering if they had accidentally queued against a very confident chess engine.

Even the opening menu reads like a victory lap: the Sicilian Defense won all four rapid outings, the Caro-Kann Defense went 4-0, and even a lone Bird Opening got in on the perfect-record party.

The Blitz Grind

Blitz is where character is built, and M1ERU-San has built plenty. Starting around 2176 in May 2026, the climb marched through the 2600s and reached a peak of 2793 (2026-10-11), backed by a 14-game winning streak and 73 wins delivered by checkmate. Another 145 opponents looked at the board, sighed, and reached for the resign button, while 72 losses came the old-fashioned way: the flag fell.

Openings and Playing Style

As White, the French Defense: Advance Variation is the trusty workhorse at a 53.57% win rate, with the Alapin and the Caro-Kann Defense rounding out a no-nonsense 1.e4 repertoire. With Black, the Sicilian Defense: Najdorf Variation is the crown jewel: eight wins in nine blitz games, a small sample with enormous swagger.

And then there is the Blackburne Shilling Gambit, appearing 33 times in the blitz record. Choosing a line named after a centuries-old trap says everything anyone needs to know about this player's personality.

The style is patient and stubborn in equal measure. Endgames appear in nearly 84% of games, wins average a marathon 79 moves, and the comeback rate sits at a ludicrous 91.26%. The early resignation rate of just 0.43 confirms it: M1ERU-San does not quit, the opponent does. When it is time to deliver the bad news, the favorite messenger is the rook, responsible for 617 checks, well ahead of the queen's 553.

Familiar Faces and Friendly Rivals

Марат Василец is the most frequent dance partner: seven meetings, four wins, three draws, zero defeats. freeccsdon fared almost as poorly, dropping five of six. But every great story needs villains, and the nemesis files contain Deniss Dunaveckis, who leads the head-to-head 5-1, and Kacper Ugorek, holding a 4-1-1 edge. Someone has to keep a National Master humble.

M1ERU-San by the Numbers

  • Monday is power day: a 75% win rate, while Fridays are best survived at 42%.
  • The golden hour is 6 AM, with an 84% win rate. The 1 AM slot (25%) should come with a warning label.
  • Surprisingly, the black pieces score better (52.78%) than the white ones (47.18%).
  • Against lower-rated opponents the win rate is 75.39%; against equal-rated opposition it is listed at 100%, which is either destiny or a very small sample.
  • Draws are rare currency: only 55 in 538 blitz games.
  • A tilt factor of 6 out of 10 means the composure mostly holds, even after losing a piece, a scenario that still ends in victory nearly half the time.

Undefeated at rapid, battle-scarred at blitz, and armed with a rook that checks more often than some players move their pawns forward, M1ERU-San is proof that the scariest opponent is not the one with the highest rating. It is the one who never stops fighting for the full point.
