McMasterMarauders: Bullet Chess, Fearless Heart
The Marauder Emerges
McMasterMarauders first appeared on the chessboard in October 2024 with a three digit rating and a quiet demeanor. Within weeks, that quietness disappeared. By November they were already playing at 2300 strength, and by April 2025 they had blasted bullet chess toa peak of 2782 (2025-04-04). Blitz was not far behind, peaking at 2606 (2026-08-29). The preference is unmistakable: this is a bullet specialist, and the rating history shows equal parts glory, chaos, and late night coffee.
A Repertoire Full of Surprises
McMasterMarauders approaches openings like a treasure hunter with a map written in riddles. With White, they love pushing b3 early and unleashing the Nimzo-Larsen Attack, along with the wonderfully strange Amazon Attack: Siberian Attack., which they have played hundreds of times. As Black, their loyalties run deep toward the Caro-Kann Defense, a mainstay in their survival kit, and toward the Australian Defense when the mood calls for maximum weirdness. It is not a classical repertoire. It is a Marauder repertoire, built on volume, surprise, and a refusal to play boring chess.
Familiar Foes
Playing thousands of games means building real rivalries. Against MilkThroat, the Marauders have a losing record in 110 meetings, proving that even bullet sharks have a nemesis. Against Eugene Hua, they flipped the script, winning 88 of 154 violent clashes. These repeated battles shaped their instincts and gave them the match toughness that now defines their play.
The Grinder Within
Behind the fast time controls is a stubborn competitor. McMasterMarauders storms back from losing positions about 79% of the time, rarely resigns early, and averages over 80 moves per decisive game. Their longest winning streak stretched to 46 games, but tilt can still bite, with a longest losing streak of 24. Analytics whisper that they are sharpest at 8am, with Friday as their most profitable day. When the pieces are flying and the clock is bleeding, this Marauder feels most at home.
