Khushal Moinzai: FIDE Master, Blitz Grinder, Friend of the Pterodactyl
Some players are born with natural talent. Khushal Moinzai, known online as Moeinzai_khoshhal, appears to have been born with something more useful: an endless appetite for one more game. A certified FIDE Master, Khushal built himself from a humble online debut into a genuine speed chess threat, with a blitz peak of 2411 (2025-08-02) and a bullet ceiling of 2446 (2026-08-13). The road there is one of the more entertaining self-improvement stories you will find on a chess server.
The Great Climb
Every chess biography needs an origin story, and this one begins in September 2020 with a blitz rating hovering around 700. Most people would call that a modest start. Within a single month the rating had nearly tripled, and by the end of 2021 Khushal was brushing 2200. The improvement never really stopped. Along the way came thousands of games, a 25-game winning streak, and eventually the FIDE Master title. The bullet board climbed even higher, peaking in August 2026.

Some players collect openings. Khushal collects pterosaurs. For reasons science may never explain, the daily chess record reads zero wins and three losses. This is a FIDE Master. Undefeated in rapid. A terror at 6 in the morning. Yet winless in daily chess, presumably because slower play does not respect the 6 AM caffeine window. The games were lost, it must be assumed, with tremendous dignity.
