Your Strengths

  • Tactical Alertness – In several wins you capitalised on loose enemy pieces (e.g.Nb4–Nxc2 in the Sicilian and the nice queen invasion …Qxf2+ against diaamamdouh2).
  • Fighting Spirit – You rarely give up; many of your victories come from complicated positions where you kept looking for tricks.
  • Opening Variety – You try both 1…e5, the Sicilian, French-type setups and even the Modern. Exploring is good at this stage.

Main Areas to Improve

  1. Early Piece Development & King Safety
Several losses feature an uncastled king or pieces stuck on the back rank while the opponent attacks. Aim for the “3 × 2 rule”: three minor pieces developed and castled within the first ten moves. Study the classic principles inside the Opening Principles glossary.
  2. Avoid Bringing the Queen Out Too Soon
In the 60-second game versus BK19999 you played 2…Qf6 3…Bc5 and quickly fell into tactical trouble. Compare the same opening with a safer plan in the guided mini-game below.
  3. Time Management
Four recent defeats were flagged “lost on time” while you still had playable positions. Practise increment discipline: make a safe move within the first 2-3 seconds, bank the bonus time, then calculate on the opponent’s clock.
  4. End-of-Game Technique
When up material you sometimes let the opponent back in. Drill basic mates (rook + king, two bishops, etc.) and simple pawn endings so you can finish confidently.

Opening Menu to Focus On (next 4 weeks)

With WhiteWith Black vs 1.e4With Black vs 1.d4
Scotch Game (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4)
Simple, open positions that sharpen calculation.
Italian Two Knights (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6).
You already play …Nc6 & …Nf6, just learn the main traps.
Queen’s Gambit Declined Set-Up (…d5 …e6 …Nf6 …Be7).
Solid, easy to learn, good piece development.

Weekly Training Plan

  • Mon-Wed: 20 tactical puzzles per day (theme: pins & forks).
  • Thu: Analyse one of your own games without an engine for 15 min, then compare with the engine for another 10 min.
  • Fri: 5 rapid games (10 + 5); focus on the 3 × 2 rule and clock control.
  • Weekend: Watch one master game in your chosen opening and play 3 blitz games trying to reproduce the ideas.

Mindset Tips

• Treat every opponent move as a question: “What does it attack or undefend?”
• If a tactic looks tempting, spend one extra check on your own king.
• Value quality of moves over quantity of openings — depth, not breadth.

Next Check-In

After ~30 games with this focus, send me your new peak rating and a game you’re proud of — we’ll review and adjust the roadmap.

Good luck and enjoy the journey! ♟️
