Profile: mokney3

Meet mokney3, a chess adventurer navigating the battlefield of 64 squares with a style somewhere between strategic perseverance and occasional chaos. Kicking off their chess journey back in 2017, mokney3 surged to their peak rapid rating of 1092 that same year, proving they're not just here for fun – but maybe for some dramatic flair too!

Their favorite battleground? The Pirc Defense, especially the Main Line and its many offshoots, where they've played over 200 games combined across time controls. With a solid win rate hovering around 40% in this opening, mokney3 clearly enjoys testing the waters of complexity, often inviting their opponents to dance in tactical storms.

Rapid games dominate mokney3's arsenal, with over 1300 games played, boasting a nearly balanced record of 604 wins and 626 losses alongside a sprinkle of draws. Their perseverance shines in their longest winning streak of 12 games, though they’ve also bravely walked through a tough patch with a losing streak hitting double digits.

Style & Stats

  • Average moves in victory: about 55 – they like a good fight!
  • Early resignations: uncommon, only ~4.5%. Giving up? Not usually.
  • Comeback wizardry: they win over 73% of games where they have to claw back from behind.
  • White pieces win rate: 47.1%, Black: 43.4% – someone’s got an edge when playing with the white pieces.

Personality on the Board

mokney3's psychological endurance is evident; a tilt factor of only 10 hints that losing a few games won't start a meltdown. Saturdays and Sundays might be more challenging days for them, with Sunday wins being a bit rare. However, they strike best around 3 PM, where their win rate soars to a perfect 100% – the true hour of chess mastery or maybe just post-lunch alertness.

Recent Battles

In one of their freshest triumphs, mokney3 checkmated opponent flappy404 with the classic King's Pawn Opening — Kings Knight Variation, showcasing some sharp play in a brisk 49-move match. Their cheeky comeback spirit and tactical surprise never failed to make it engaging.

Not every day is a win, though. Their most recent loss was a checkmate defeat by fenilchess18, reminding us all that every chess journey comes with its teaching moments.

Fun Fact

Despite an otherwise competitive profile, mokney3’s opening of choice in Blitz includes “Top Secret” – possibly a mysterious gambit or just a habit of clicking random moves. Either way, opponents beware: surprises aplenty!

Hi mokney3! 🌟 Your personalised chess feedback

What you’re already doing well

  • Early castling & king safety – in most games you reach safety quickly, a great habit for long-term growth.
  • Tactical alertness – nice finds such as 15…Qxh2# in your latest Pirc win show that you can spot mating nets when the moment arises.
  • Fighting spirit – several wins were converted from messy positions; you keep looking for chances instead of giving up.

Key areas to improve next

  1. Piece coordination in the opening
Early queen adventures like 3…Qb5 or 4…Qxg2 cost time and leave pieces undeveloped. Challenge: keep your queen at home until move 10 unless there is a concrete tactic.
  2. Avoiding “hope chess” sacrifices
The Italian line 5.Bxf7+?! works at 600 elo but is unsound. Replace it with the main plan 5.c3 & 6.d4 for healthier development.
  3. Endgame & clock management
In the loss to Mursal2508 you were a rook up but flagged. Switch some sessions to 15|10 or 30 min games to practise converting with ample time.

Quick opening pointers

Pirc as Black: After …g6 …Bg7 …O-O aim for …e5 (often prepared by …c6) instead of the slower …c5 ideas that left d6 weak.
Italian as White: Memorise the classic sequence 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5 4.c3 Nf6 5.d4. It gives you the centre without risky sacrifices.

Illustrative tactic from your recent win

Lesson: once the knight leaves f3 and the h-pawn is still on h2, the classic bishop-on-d6 / queen-on-h5 motif is deadly. Keep this pattern in mind both for attacking and defending.

Three concrete goals for the coming week

  1. Solve 30 tactics that feature the motifs fork and pin.
  2. Play 10 games where your queen stays put until move 10 unless you win material.
  3. Study basic pawn endgames (opposition, square of the pawn) – they come up surprisingly often.

Next practical steps

  • After each game, identify the first move that swings the computer evaluation by ±1.5; that’s the real blunder to learn from.
  • Before every move, ask: “What is my opponent threatening?” – this one habit alone will slash your blunder rate.
  • Review one master game in your favourite opening each day to pick up healthier plans.

Keep enjoying the journey – every game is a lesson. Good luck, and see you on the board!
