Hi Moliac! 🎯 Personalised Improvement Plan
1 – What you already do well
- Tactical eyesight. Quick knock-outs such as 7.Qf7# (vs ajaywina) show you can spot mating nets fast.
- Fighting spirit. Gambits and pawn storms (g4-g5, h4-h5) prove you’re not afraid to seize the initiative.
- Clock handling. You rarely dip below 8-9 min in 10-min games, so you have spare time to think deeper when needed.
2 – Recurring problems to fix
- Early queen adventures. Positions like 2…Qa5+ ( loss vs benix11) or 2…Qh4 leave you under-developed and targeted. Follow the principle “queen out after minor pieces.”
- King safety. A wandering monarch (Kf3-Ke4-Kd5-Ke5 vs ydott30) usually ends in mate. Castle by move 8-10 in 90 % of games.
- Pawns sprinting before pieces. Early g- and h-pawn pushes open lines toward your own king. Develop, castle, then start pawn storms.
- Missing opponent tactics. 12.Nxb7! cost you a rook against Benix11. Before every move ask, “What does my opponent threaten?”
3 – Opening toolkit (simple & solid)
Memorisation is optional; principles are not:
- Occupy the centre (e4/d4 or …e5/…d5).
- Knights before bishops.
- Castle early.
Concrete suggestions:
- As White try the Italian: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5 4.c3 Nf6 5.d4 exd4 6.cxd4. You still get attacking chances but your king is safe.
- As Black stick to 1…e5 and aim for the Classical setup: Nf6, Nc6, Bc5/Bb4, 0-0—no early queen sorties.
4 – Highlighted game lessons
Last win vs ajaywinA (7-move mate) – what to keep & what to change
Good: Punished 2…f6 & the open king immediately.
Improve: 4.g4 weakens your king; against a stronger opponent play 4.d4 or 4.Nc3 and keep the same attacking ideas safely.
Last loss vs Benix11 – why the early queen failed
2…Qa5+ won a pawn but left pieces undeveloped and the a8-rook unprotected. Development first, tactics later.
5 – Daily training routine (15-20 min)
- 10 tactical puzzles (mate-in-2/3) focusing on defence as well as attack.
- Play one 10-min game where you must castle before move 10—no exceptions.
- Right after the game, pinpoint the first move you’d change; write one sentence about why.
6 – Track your progress
