mosani07: The Blitz Ironman

The Story So Far

Some players study chess. Some players savor it. mosani07 chose a third path: play an absolutely colossal amount of blitz and let the ratings sort themselves out. Since January 2025, mosani07 has contested more than 16,000 rated games, piling up 8,657 wins, 7,263 losses and 755 draws along the way. That works out to roughly 25 games a day, every day, which is either admirable discipline or an elaborate scheme to wear out a mouse.

The grind paid off spectacularly. mosani07 arrived on the scene in January 2025 rated 1390 and immediately played 732 games that month, because apparently the correct response to being new is volume. The climb that followed was relentless: past 2000 within weeks, through the 2200s by spring, and finally to a personal peak of 2429 in April 2026. A thousand-point rise in about fifteen months, earned the honest way, one three-minute game at a time.

The mosani07 Opening Repertoire

As White, devotion to 1.e4 borders on religious. Across two years, 8,311 of 8,320 recorded first moves were the king's pawn; the other nine were almost certainly typos. The main battlefield became the Sicilian Defense with over 2,200 games from the White side, though the sharpest results actually arrived through quieter roads: the Bishop's Opening wins over 56% of the time, and the Vienna Gambit has supplied no shortage of fireworks.

As Black, things get gloriously weird. The signature reply is the mysterious Australian Defense, hauled out a staggering 2,821 times with a healthy 53% win rate. There is also a deep commitment to the Barnes Defense (over 2,000 games), the cheerfully disrespectful Blackburne Shilling Gambit (a 57% win rate), and even 280 rounds with the Amar Gambit, because mainstream openings are apparently for other people.

Rivalries and Rematches

With this many games come sworn enemies, trusted sparring partners, and people who are simply the same five opponents on loop. The chief nemesis is geraki73, owner of a lopsided 34-64-10 edge over 108 encounters, a rivalry that has clearly outlived several keyboards. To their eternal credit, mosani07 keeps clicking rematch anyway, which says something admirable about resilience and something concerning about memory.

Balance is found elsewhere. The ledger against michael_chipashvili reads a winning 57-45-3 across 105 games, while sxb001 is a genuine coin flip at 44-43-7 over 94 meetings. Meanwhile nod032 (36-15-5) and BHBahmud (35-17-4) fill the cherished role of favorite victims. Everyone needs a geraki73 to stay humble and a nod032 to feel alive.

Style: Grind First, Ask Questions Later

The numbers sketch a stubborn fighter. mosani07 essentially never resigns early, with a microscopic 1.24% early resignation rate, and nearly 82% of games march all the way into an endgame. These are marathon blitz battles too, with typical wins lasting about 75 moves. Give up a piece? The win rate barely dips, and the overall comeback rate sits at a staggering 78%. Down material is fine. Down hope is not in the vocabulary.

There is science to the routine as well. Win rates peak above 55% around 9 in the morning, making mosani07 living proof that blitz is best played before the coffee cools. Saturdays are the known weak spot, tilt levels are enviably low, and the longest winning streak stands at 14 games, offset somewhere by a 12-game slide that history has agreed to forgive. Three career draws by stalemate complete the portfolio, because at 16,000 games even the rarest verdicts come find you.

The Bullet Incident

For the record, it must be noted that mosani07 once tried bullet chess. It went poorly. Two games, two losses, one ill-fated fling with the Amar Gambit, and a swift retreat to blitz, where the clock at least moves in minutes rather than heartbeats. The bullet chapter remains forever open at 0-2, arguably the most honest scoreline in the entire profile.
