Hi ogyyys!

Great job stringing together several wins lately – your games show plenty of fighting spirit and creativity. Below is some personalised feedback to help you climb to the next level.

Your current strengths

  • Killer instinct when the enemy king is exposed. In several victories you exploited back-rank weaknesses and loose kings (e.g. mates on h-files and back ranks).
  • Confidence in open, tactical positions. You’re never afraid to sacrifice a pawn for activity, and that boldness will pay dividends as your fundamentals improve.
  • Clock management. You regularly finish games with a healthy cushion of time, so you can afford to spend an extra 10–15 seconds on critical moves.

Key areas to improve

  1. Early queen adventures.
Openings with Qg4, Qa4+, Qb4, Qd5 etc. give the opponent free Tempo to develop. • Try to limit yourself to one queen move in the first 10 moves.
    • Ask: “Can a knight or bishop do this job instead?”
  2. Follow the classic opening checklist.
    1) Fight for the centre → 2) Develop knights & bishops → 3) Castle → 4) Then launch pawn storms or queen raids.
In the loss to karan_1538 you played …f5 and …Ne3 before your king was safe and the undeveloped pieces couldn’t help.
  3. King safety before pawn grabs.
Many English/Réti games showed your queen hunting pawns while allowing …Qh4+ or …Qg5. Make a post-game note: “Did I castle before move 10? If not, why?” – this habit alone will slash blunders.
  4. Simplify your repertoire.
    • With White: start with 1.e4 or 1.d4 and aim for simple, classical setups (Italian Game or London System).
    • With Black: against 1.e4 play …e5 (learn the first 5-6 moves of the Giuoco Piano); against 1.d4 answer …d5 and develop normally.
A narrower repertoire lets you focus on tactics instead of memorisation.

Suggested daily routine (≈ 25 min)

  • 10 min – Tactics puzzles (aim for 15 correct).
  • 5 min – Quick computer review of your last game; write down the first big mistake from each side.
  • 10 min – One 10-min rapid game applying the opening checklist.

Next milestone

A realistic short-term target is reaching 400 rapid by month-end. Cutting early queen moves in half and castling sooner should be enough to net the extra wins you need.

Keep up the hard work, develop – castle – then attack, and see you on the board!
