The Grind Commander

Scott, better known by his battle handle Paladin_Archer, entered the online chess arena in March 2021 and simply never stopped swinging. Since that first sortie he has played more than 55,000 rated games, a workload that would make most club players log off out of sheer pity. Equal parts holy knight and sharpshooter, Scott grinds out games at all hours, cracking 2000 rapid in late 2025 and pushing his 1781 (2026-02-21) in the process.

While he dabbles in everything, his true home is bullet chess, where seconds evaporate and so do his opponents' dreams.

Bullet Firepower

The bullet chess ledger shows a player who thrives on speed, tension, and the occasional full-blown armchair panic. From a humble 1047 debut to a peak of 1781, the trajectory below is the story of a man who learned to lose fast so he could start winning fast.

The Opening Arsenal

As White, Scott plays 1.e4 with the conviction of a man who has never seen the word "c4". Roughly 90% of his recent White games begin with the king's pawn, feeding a deep and lifelong devotion to the Petrov's Defense, which he has contested in thousands of games as Black. His White-side toolkit leans on the Sicilian Defense: Alapin Variation, the Scandinavian Defense, and the Caro-Kann.

Then there is the Barnes Defense, played well over two thousand times. It is objectively one of the strangest replies to 1.e4 in the literature, and Scott plays it anyway, repeatedly, on purpose. Legend status: confirmed.

The Nemesis Files

Every paladin has a dragon. Scott's is Witchboy, against whom his record reads 15 wins, 141 losses, and 6 draws across 162 duels. A rivalry so one-sided it deserves its own documentary. Chess Diva has likewise plundered his castle (4 wins, 89 losses), while Nauniime stands as his most-played sparring partner at 243 games, where Scott actually holds a positive score.

Against Helen and thedotachess, however, the story flips: Scott dominates both, racking up more than 100 wins against each. The moral is clear: pick your enemies wisely.

Playing Style: The Comeback Crusader

Scott's games are marathons, not sprints. Over 84% of his games reach the endgame, and his average win runs nearly 79 moves. His most trusted checking piece, by an absurd margin, is the rook, deployed over 63,000 times. He also owns an 86% comeback rate after dropping material, and his longest winning streak (12) is nearly matched by his longest losing streak (13), a universe in perfect, uneasy balance.

Statistically, he wins more often by resignation than by mate, which suggests opponents occasionally look at the board, sigh, and concede out of respect.
