What’s already working

  • Tactical alertness. You often capitalise on loose pieces (e.g. ...Qxg4 in the Grob win).
  • Courage to enter sharp, unorthodox positions. This scores quick victories against unprepared foes.
  • Resilience in time scrambles. Several games are saved or won with seconds left on the clock.

Main improvement priorities

  1. King safety & development.
Early king walks (4.Ke2, 8.Kd1, etc.) and delayed castling feature in most recent losses. Adopt the discipline of developing two minor pieces and castling before launching queen raids.
  2. A sound opening backbone.
Your queen-first systems (1.e3 Qh5, 1...Qf6, etc.) are double-edged. Keep them as surprise weapons, but build a solid everyday repertoire (e.g. Queen’s Gambit/Italian as White, French/Caro-Kann as Black) to reach middlegames where your tactical skills can shine.
  3. Prophylaxis & blunder checks.
Several defeats arose while you were up material but ignored a mate threat (…Qe2#, …Qd8#, etc.). After selecting a move, pause for two seconds and ask, “What can my opponent do to me?” — a habit that quickly cuts unforced errors.

Illustrative example – centre-king danger

Leaving your king on e2 let Black mate in a few moves:

Instead, 4.Nf3 (develop) then 5.0-0 brings a healthy, safe position.

14-day action plan

Day(s)FocusHow
Mon / ThuOpening rehearsalMemorise 10 main-line moves of each new opening with flashcards
DailyTactics (20 puzzles)3-5 sec per puzzle, write down any theme you miss twice
Tue / FriGame reviewAnnotate one of your own losses without an engine, then verify with engine
WeekendPractice gamesPlay 5 rapid games strictly no early queen moves; save PGNs for review

Concepts worth studying next

  • overextension  – recognise when your queen adventure creates weaknesses.
  • zwischenzug  – many missed chances involve intermediate moves.
  • tempo  – appreciate how every queen move costs development time.

Sparring partners

Ask stronger friends such as mohamed_kasraoui to play training games where you must castle by move 10. Their feedback on unsafe plans will be invaluable.

Stay creative, anchor it with solid fundamentals, and your rating curve will point up quickly. Good luck in your next sessions!
