Meet Robert Piliposyan, the FIDE-titled International Master known online as PiliposyanRobertChess. Some IMs build their careers on three-hour rook endgames in smoky tournament halls. Robert built his on bullet chess, where the clock is a weapon and the flag is a casualty. With over 2,600 rated bullet games on record, he does not take a break from chess. He takes a break from the next game.
The numbers back up the obsession: a bullet peak of 3161 (2026-06-22) and a blitz peak of 3178 (2026-07-02), achieved at speeds where most players are still trying to find the knight.
The Climb and the Legendary Streak
In July 2021, Robert debuted in bullet at a humble 2118. He then did something radical: he simply kept playing. Five years and a few thousand games later, the trajectory looks like a rocket with a chess.com account.
The crown jewel is a 106-game winning streak, a run so long opponents presumably suspected the site had malfunctioned. The longest losing streak, a humbling 19 games, is something every bullet grinder has lived through and nobody wants to discuss.
Repertoire: Respectable, With Confessions
The professional side is real. The Caro-Kann Defense is his most-used weapon at 181 bullet games, the French Defense: Exchange Variation wins nearly 69 percent of the time, and the Four Knights Game has logged 127 bullet outings at a tidy 63 percent.
And then there is the Amar Gambit, the infamous 1.Na3 that opening theorists describe as "a move". Robert has flirted with it 115 times in bullet, but here is the twist: as White, his Amar scores a shaky 41.94 percent, while as Black, when opponents gift him the same gambit, he wins over 65 percent. The Amar Gambit, like most gambits, is clearly better when the other guy plays it.
Rivalries and Nemesis Management
Against anmuradyan, Robert went 111 wins and exactly 1 loss in 112 games, a level of domination that borders on a restraining order. Against ashokia, he stands 42-0-1, apparently unaware that losing to this opponent is even an option.

- Comeback artist: an 88.57 percent comeback rate and a 56.67 percent win rate even after dropping a piece. Losing material is a suggestion, not a sentence.
