Qassem Kamal eddine (QassemL): The Midnight Bullet Machine
Qassem Kamal eddine, better known online as QassemL, has done something almost nobody does on purpose: he chose bullet chess as a lifestyle. Across nearly 30,000 online games, more than 13,900 of them bullet, he clawed his way from a sub-1,000 beginner in 2023 to a peak of 2800 (2026-09-07), one ultrafast game at a time. Along the way he developed a fondness for midnight, an allergy to early resignation, and a queen that has delivered 33,705 checks, which is frankly a lot even by her standards.
Humble Beginnings
The story starts in April 2023, when early blitz forays dipped as low as 561. Like any sensible person learning speed chess, he responded by playing even more of it: 314 bullet games in July 2023 alone. By December his bullet rating had reached 1,704, a hint of the marathon to come. Fun historical footnote: he was a d4 player back then, opening that way 1,251 times in 2023, before converting to the church of 1.e4.
The Great Climb
From there the numbers get silly. December 2024 featured 1,556 bullet games. May 2026 somehow contained 1,961 of them, more than 60 a day for a month. Buried in the avalanche was a 45-game winning streak, long enough that he probably had to look up what a loss looked like afterward. The results followed the volume: past 2,000 in late 2024, past 2,500 in 2025, and 2,800 reached in 2026.
Playing Style: The Queen Does the Talking
The stats paint a portrait of a stubborn optimist. His early resignation rate is 1.11 percent, meaning he treats resigning like a typo he refuses to make. He reaches the endgame in 77.4 percent of his games, still wins 48.1 percent of games where he drops a piece first, and his comeback rate sits at a bonkers 85.9 percent. One-sided losses happen just 1.84 percent of the time. When attacking, he delegates: 33,705 queen checks make Her Majesty his clear favorite, while his first capture tends to land around move six, brisk but not reckless. His tilt factor of 23 also happens to match his longest losing streak exactly, which is either a coincidence or the most self-aware statistic ever recorded.
The Night Shift
Then there is the schedule. QassemL wins 67.4 percent of his games at midnight and a monstrous 73.7 percent at 2 a.m., which his data lists as his best time to play. The 5 to 7 a.m. window is far less kind, confirming that sunrise is his true nemesis. If you want a fair fight, book him for breakfast. If you want to lose in under a minute, wait for the small hours.
The Repertoire
His openings are built for speed. The Scandinavian Defense leads all comers with 1,045 bullet appearances, flanked by the Caro-Kann Defense at 820 and the mischievous Amar Gambit at 769, with the Sicilian Closed and the Barnes Defense rounding out the menu. As White he is a devoted 1.e4 player, opening that way 4,955 times in 2026 alone, usually answering the French Defense with the Exchange Variation. In blitz, the Amazon Attack makes regular guest appearances. His signature setup is the classical Scandinavian main line below.
Rivals and Repeat Customers
Every grinder has a support cast, and Qassem's has gotten remarkably familiar.
- Markus: 190 wins, 1 loss. A rivalry in the way a tidal wave is a rival to a sandcastle.
- thatsjustnotit: 94 games, 94 Qassem wins, 0 losses.
- supermanaintsavingshi: 118-2, proving once and for all that Superman is not, in fact, saving much here.
- alimahmouddddd: 72-0. Somewhere around game 40 this stopped being a matchup and became a subscription.
- SacrificeMasterSRB: 321 meetings, 267 Qassem wins, the most loyal sparring partner on the internet.
But the ledger cuts both ways. futurgm100100 leads their 209-game war 145 wins to 53, and greekalphamale has taken 105 of their 146 clashes. Qassem clearly finds these nemesis relationships motivating, because he keeps clicking the rematch button anyway.
The Road Ahead
The arrow still points up. His blitz peak of 2,716 and rapid peak of 2,467 both landed in late 2026, his opening prep has deepened from a median of three moves to five, and his average game length has grown from about 68 to 86 moves, so the wild gunslinger is slowly becoming a thoroughbred. At press time he was riding a seven-game winning streak. Wherever the next milestone lands, odds are it will be earned around 2 a.m., with the queen delivering the final check.
