Ansary Dandamun
Ansary Dandamun, better known on the board as SaryDandamun, is a Rapid chess specialist whose online journey reads like a classic underdog story. After years of steady, sometimes frustrating progress, Ansary exploded onto the higher rating brackets in late 2025 and never looked back.
From Slow Start to Sudden Surge
Ansary was active as early as 2020, mostly in Blitz chess, but the early results were modest. The middle years around 2023 and 2024 were a grind, with ratings hovering in the lower ranges and losses piling up against stronger competition. Then came December 2025. In a single month, Ansary played 88 Rapid games, won 80 of them, and saw the rating leap from the 700s to over 1500.
The surge was no fluke. By January 2026, Ansary was playing more than 600 games in a single month, and by August 2026 had touched a career-best 2376 (2026-08-31) of 2376. The
shows one of the steepest upward curves you will ever see.A Sharp and Fearless Repertoire
Ansary favors open, fighting positions. With White, the e4 push is almost always the choice, and Ansary is especially dangerous against the Caro-Kann Defense and the Scandinavian Defense. With Black, the Sicilian Defense is the true home base, and within it the razor sharp Najdorf Variation appears more often than any other setup.
There is a playful side too. The Blackburne Shilling Gambit shows up regularly in the White repertoire, and opponents often find themselves facing tricky early piece sacrifices. With an average first capture around move seven, Ansary enters the fight early and enjoys the chaos.
Rivalries and Regular Opponents
Every strong player needs familiar rivals, and Ansary has a few. The most frequent sparring partner is UnbeatableSorcerer, who has faced Ansary 22 times. That series has been tough, with the sorcerer holding the edge, but Ansary has turned the tables on stormbringer1969, winning six of their ten meetings.
Grit and Record Streaks
Ansary's most impressive quality may be resilience. The player comes back from losing positions an astonishing 83.3 percent of the time, and even after dropping a piece still wins nearly half of the games. A 28 game winning streak shows the ceiling, while an 11 game losing streak proves that even hot streaks can cool down. Games often reach the endgame, and most wins arrive by checkmate or opponent resignation.
- Longest winning streak: 28 games
- Rapid peak rating: 2376 (2026-08-31)
- Blitz peak rating: 2191 (2026-06-13)
- Favorite battlefield: Rapid chess
With strong win rates in both Rapid and Blitz over thousands of games, Ansary has become one of the busiest improvers on the platform. The rating climb may have been slow at first, but once things clicked, there was no stopping SaryDandamun.
