Meet Savitha Shri B, the Blitz Marathoner
Savitha Shri B, better known online as savitha1030, is a FIDE Woman Grandmaster with a serious addiction to the blitz queue. While some titled players treat blitz as a fun side dish, Savitha treats it as a full endurance sport. Her recorded online record spans more than 6,800 games, including months where she plays over a hundred blitz games without blinking.
Her style is less "perfectly controlled strategist" and more "I will find the endgame no matter how unreasonable it seems." She reaches the endgame in around 79% of her games, enjoys average winning games of about 81 moves, and still wins only 40% of positions after dropping a piece. She never gets bored. After a 23-game losing streak, she simply queued up for number 24 and found an 11-game winning streak to balance it out.
The Blitz Grind
Her preferred time control is Blitz, and the tempo shows up in everything she does. One month she played 249 blitz games. That is the kind of workload that turns a rating chart into a mountain range, an almost beautiful line graph full of sharp cliffs, sudden peaks, and overnight recoveries.
If she has a best hour, it appears to be around 19:00, and if she has a weakness, it is that tilt factor of 23. Still, her comeback rate around 91% says she refuses to stay down for long.
Opening Repertoire
When she sits down, Savitha does not look for a quiet life. She wades into the Sicilian Defense, takes on the aggressive Benoni Defense, and has a profitable relationship with the French Defense: Exchange Variation, where her results are noticeably solid. As Black she often handles the Alapin Variation like a patient spider, waiting for the endgame.
Rivalries at Internet Speed
No one achieves 6,842 games without collecting familiar faces along the way. Two of her most loyal rivals are cockroachdolly and Nguyen Hoang Nam, both of whom have faced her 45 times. Then there is Pranesh M, who has somehow managed to win 33 out of 34 encounters against her. Those results look frustrating in a score summary, but they also make her best suited to say that internet blitz is mostly about tactical patience.
A lot of for her resilience comes from her ability to keep clicking "Play" no matter what the last game said. Savitha Shira appears capable of unlimited online punishment, which makes her exactly the kind of player you never want to face in a three-hour blitz board.
