When Scott wants to enjoy chess instead of just survive it, he picks Rapid. His Rapid ride is not a straight line; it is a winding road of deep preparation, sudden optimism, and occasional heartbreak. The

Scott does not just play openings, he explores. The Blackburne Shilling Gambit appears in over 1,000 of his Rapid games, while the Amazon Attack also makes a regular appearance, and not from the comfort of his home opening. He has tested the Caro-Kann Defense with both colors, rattled off four games of classical theory as quickly as possible, and even built a small city from the like of the Blackburne. He also has a narrow white-win rate of 50.34 percent against a 46.23 percent Black result, which is proof that he is comfortable when he is holding the first move and not entirely comfortable any other way.

Everyone needs a rival. For Scott, the all-time dance partner is dspazman, who has met him across 131 games with Scott holding the better side by a 64-58-9 score. A tougher puzzle has been rmills66, against whom Scott can count 26 wins compared to 49 losses, plus 14 draws that made everybody kinder. It is safe to say the Badger has been a tougher puzzle than he would like.
His win rate his sober around 50% on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but his best hour is noon. If you see Scott queue up at 12:00 exactly, treat him like a box of chocolates. He will almost certainly win one game, give back another, and then open a completely unbelievable variation simply to see what happens.
