What you are already doing well
- Early castling & king safety: In nearly every game you castle by move 5–6, which keeps your king secure and lets your rooks connect sooner.
- Eye for tactics: Your recent miniature against plaf_chess ended with the clean combination 26.Qxf7+ Kh8 27.Rxh7#. Spotting that mating motif shows tactical alertness.
- Willingness to fight for the initiative: Advances such as 7.f4 (vs Plaf_chess) demonstrate that you like to seize space and create threats rather than waiting passively.
Key areas to improve
-
Opening discipline
• Side-pawn lunges (g-pawn Grob, a-pawn pushes) often leave you under-developed and down material.
• Stick to the basics: occupy the centre, develop minor pieces, castle, then launch pawn storms.
Challenge: For your next 20 games, avoid moving the a-, h- or g-pawns before move 7 unless it is forced. -
Piece safety & counting
In the loss to mr-j-24 you dropped two pawns and a piece because of overlooked captures (…Nxb2, …Bxd4). Train yourself to do a 3-second “blunder check” before every move:“If I play this, what can my opponent capture?”
-
Time management
Two recent defeats were flagged or timed-out positions you were still fighting in. Try the “40/20 rule”: spend at most 40 seconds on any single move and keep 20 seconds in reserve for the last 10 moves. -
Endgame conversion
The win vs Ya2n62 drifted into a 60-move rook-pawn ending that could have finished sooner. A firmer grasp of basic rook endgames will save you energy and clock time.

Mindset tip
“Make your next move the simplest one that does not immediately lose.” — If you follow this mantra, your natural attacking talent will shine without the unforced blunders.
