Zane Nasir, National Master

Better known to the chess world as stolencandy13: bullet specialist, endgame hoarder, and the only thief who advertises.

The Legend of the Stolen Candy

Zane Nasir first logged on in 2016 as a 1900-strength blitz rookie and has been taking things ever since: your time, your pawns, occasionally your queen, and, per the username, at least thirteen pieces of candy. He denies everything. The evidence consists of roughly 30,000 games, a blitz peak of 2820 (2025-11-29), and a bullet peak of 2769 (2026-08-25), and it all points to a man who knows exactly where everything went.

Along the way he earned the National Master title, proving that a suspicious amount of snacking and a suspicious amount of talent can coexist in one account.

Playing Style: The Polite Heist

  • His preferred time control is bullet chess, where "the clock is the opponent" stops being a metaphor.
  • About 86% of his games reach an endgame, where he counts material like a raccoon counts trash: patiently, and with intent.
  • His first capture lands around move 7 on average. He lets you finish your snack before he takes it.
  • He wins 89% of his comebacks, so dropping a piece against him is not a plan, it is a mood.
  • He resigns early in only 27% of his losses. He lingers. He waits. He believes.
  • Checkmate happens in a tiny fraction of his games. The flag does most of the executions.
  • Tilt factor: 12. Clinically un-bothered. Emotionally fortified by sugar.

Opening Arsenal

As Black, the Caro-Kann Defense is not a choice for Zane, it is a lifestyle: nearly 4,000 blitz games across the Classical, Exchange, and Panov lines.

As White, he smuggles out the Amazon Attack and its Siberian Attack line more than 3,500 times, garnished with the Four Knights Game and occasional forays into the Sicilian Najdorf. Career arc of the first move: a devoted 1.e4 player from 2016 through 2021, then a near-total conversion to 1.d4 from 2022 onward. The candy simply moved to a bigger vault.

Feuds and Unfinished Business

  • leon-liang: 82 wins, 0 losses, 1 draw. Statistically perfect. Morally debatable.
  • ttvturtles2: 66 wins, 0 losses, 0 draws. The turtles have been fully delivered.
  • Guannan Song: a 225-game marathon sitting at 90 wins against 105 losses. Somebody keeps stealing the candy back.
  • Rogelio Jr Antonio and Dachey Lin: the two nemeses with winning records over him, proof that even master thieves have natural predators.

Quirks and Superstitions

  • Best hour: 10 a.m., a 51.9% win rate. Worst hour: 9 a.m., 41%. The first coffee is ceremonial.
  • Sundays are his strongest day of the week.
  • Longest winning streak: 15 games. Longest losing streak: 12. The universe insists on balance.
  • Daily chess record: a flawless 6-0. Technically, he is a perfect slow-chess player.
  • Rapid record: 250 wins against 45 losses, including an unbeaten run from February to September 2020 that carried him from 1933 past 2555.
  • Favorite checking piece: the rook, by a landslide, with over 30,000 rook checks delivered.

The Long Climb

From a 1900-rated newcomer in April 2016 to a National Master with a 2820 blitz peak in late 2025, Zane's graph looks less like a career and more like a decade-long heist plan, executed one stolen game at a time.

Final verdict: the candy remains stolen, the master remains national, and if you ever sit down against stolencandy13, guard your clock first and your pawns second. The candy never had a chance.
