Your Recent Games
You have a clear attacking style and you are not afraid to go for the win. Your recent victories show strong tactical awareness and good fighting spirit. At the same time, a couple of losses reveal a pattern that is worth fixing.
What Is Going Well
- You finish games with purpose. In your win against getzenn, you built pressure and delivered a clean checkmate. Review that game to see how your pieces worked together.
- Your opening choices as Black, like the Grunfeld Defense and King's Indian Defense, give you active piece play and good counterattacking chances.
- You can convert won endgames. Against nancygiblet, you patiently pushed your passed pawns and forced resignation. See this endgame win.
What Needs Work
- Queen safety in the opening. In your loss to getzenn, you brought your queen out very early in the Caro-Kann Defense. Your opponent gained time by attacking it, and you ended up losing material. Review this loss and look for the moment your queen got trapped.
- Loose pieces. In that same game, your light-squared bishop became undefended and was captured. Before making a move, check which of your pieces are unprotected. Loose Pieces often decide games at this level.
- Patience with early attacks. You sometimes go all in too quickly. It is fine to be aggressive, but make sure your pieces are safe before starting a direct attack.
How to Improve
- Before playing an early queen move, ask yourself: can my opponent attack it and force me to move again? If yes, look for a more solid developing move.
- After each opponent move, scan for checks, captures, and threats. Also scan your own pieces for anything hanging.
- Keep playing active openings like the Grunfeld Defense and the Caro-Kann Defense, but study typical plans so you know where your pieces belong.
- Use your daily games to practice. When you win, try to explain how you created the attack. When you lose, find the exact move where the game turned.
