Bullet Heart, Candidate Mind

Tori Porat, better known to the chess internet as tortorchess, is a FIDE Woman Candidate Master who built her reputation one lightning fast game at a time. Her online journey began modestly in 2018 with slow rapid battles, but everything changed in 2020 when she discovered bullet chess. The one minute clock did not intimidate her, it inspired her.

The Grind Behind the Screen

Few players in the online arena can match Tori's sheer volume and hunger.

tells the story of a player who climbed from triple digits to a 2339 bullet peak through tens of thousands of moves. She has won more than 1,500 bullet games and is most dangerous at 13:00, when her tactical sharpness peaks.

Her steady rise carried over to blitz as well, where she crossed the 2400 mark in 2026. She performs best when the result matters, winning at a much higher clip in rated games than casual ones.

Firepower and Repertoire

Tori loves open, tactical chaos. She is a lifelong fan of the Sicilian Defense, particularly the Accelerated Dragon, and she has made the quirky Amazon Attack one of her favorite surprises. Her opening statistics show a player who wins more often than she loses in her sharpest lines, and she is especially punishing against the Australian Defense.

  • Delivers over three checks per game on average
  • Reaches the endgame in over 80 percent of games
  • Has a comeback rate near 82 percent
  • Has won 17 games in a row at her best

Rivalries That Forged Her

No profile of Tori is complete without mentioning her 99 game war with garfield92037, an opponent who has tested her patience more than anyone else. The record may be one sided, but Tori never stopped queueing up for more. She found a much more balanced rival in dramb, with whom she shared 15 draws and a series of memorable battles, including this View Game.

She has also survived a 20 game losing streak and used every loss as fuel. By 2024 she was regularly beating higher rated players, and her one-sided loss rate dropped to nearly nothing. Tori Porat is proof that a player can get knocked down a thousand times online and still log in the next day for more bullet chess.
